Default FOTC Cetury Frazier v Toledo Jess Willard

I have a hangover.

How bad? The beating, not the hangover.

Just like the Dempsey fight, but Frazier wouldn't punch himself out. Frazier TKO/KO in rnds 1 - 4.

Frazier destroys him ... not as fast as Dempsey and the height difference will take some steam away from Frazier, but i think Willard is stopped inside 5 on the shier volume of punches he ships.

I'm just not sure about this one. Remember that Frazier was a slow starter. Dempsey blitzed Willard and hit harder than Frazier right and left. Willard was very strong and packed a good swat himself. If he used his height and leaned on Joe, this could be cause problems.

The problem here is - Frazier does not punch hard enough to stop Willard and there will not be the round 1 assault we saw Dempsey dish out. So...how does Joe stop Jess?

I'm afraid he does it the same way he would stop a heavy bag. Actually beating the stuffing out of it. Frazer KO10. It would be horrible.

Frazier would destroy him not as fast as Dempsey but Williard would get beat just the same. Frazier stops him in either round 6 or 7.

As others have said Frazier would probably need more rounds to do it than Dempsey and this would not necisarily be to Willards advantage.

He could end up looking something like a cross between this and this

THIS is exactly how I feel, Frazier picking the wings off Willard could make the Dempsey demolition look like a mercy killing.

I'm interested in these "in-between" facts that are sprung of different styles.

nobody destroys him the way Dempsey did. You all hate to admit it, but the Dempsey of that fight was a demon. Frazier, being the slower starter, as mentioned, has a good but not great first round. He inflicts damage throughout the fight and they call it off during the seventh or eighth tko for Joe.

Willard bombs him out with uppercuts on the inside ?

(I didn't think so)

Frazier mashes him.

When talks turn to Toledo, it more or less comes down to that Jess was an inactive, older and not very capable fighter. All true. But it is my opinion that Jack Dempsey was a killing machine that day in Toledo. I am not trying to prop up the legacy, but he does not get the credit he deserves. Not that he would beat any fighter on that day, but you know, I do buy into the idea that he was a self made, hungry, badass who came to destroy or be destroyed.

Willard kos Frazier in the 5th with a big right uppercut, after taking countless left hooks to the body without being moved.

No, Frazier, wears the big guy down, this would be a war of attrition rather like the Mathis fight,Willard could take it so it goes a while maybe 9 or 10 rds, before the referee stop its.
