Default Mark Breland vs. Current Welters

Antonio Margirito, Clottey, and Cotto.

How does a prime Breland do against them?

I think Margarito would walk through him. Breland didn't have the strength or punch to keep him off. Late stoppage for Margarito. Clottey reminds me a little of Starling. Not nearly as crafty as Starling but similar in the way they cover up and press forward. He's stronger than Starling though. Decision for Breland or late stoppage for Clottey. Breland's height gives Cotto problems but he doesn't have the arsenal to keep Cotto off like Margarito did. I'll say Cotto decision or late stoppage. Ultimately I think Breland was a little overrated due to his amateur career.

I don't know, Breland had frightening power before fragile hands among other things did him in.

He literally only went 180 something rounds his entire career. He was icing very durable guys early on with his right.

You're correct sir. I guees I was thinking of the Starling fights and Aaron Davis. He had some trouble keeping those guys from coming forward by that point in his career. I think Margarito and Clottey are in the same class from a durability standpoint. I actually think Cotto would have the toughest time against Breland because of height and durability.
