Default Scott Gammer unretired?

I thought he'd retired after losing to john mcdermott and was going to concentrate on his business.

however, according to boxrec he's fighting on the valuev - ruiz undercard.

looks like he's been brought in to bolster the record of young italian hw prospect Pianeta (16-0).

From the BBC:

Quote:
Former British heavyweight champion Scott Gammer will make his return to the ring in Berlin on 30 August, probably in the Max Schmeling Halle.

Gammer, 31, returns from retirement to face southpaw Francesco Pianeta, 23, for the vacant EBU-EU heavyweight belt.

The Pembroke Dock fighter had been set to face Pianeta on 19 July in Efurt.

But a switch in television dates means Gammer will now fight on the undercard of Nikolay Valuev against John Ruiz for the vacant WBA heavyweight title.

Gammer's manager, Paul Boyce, told BBC Sport Wales that his fighter was eager to restart his career.

"It's a big show, a big fight and it's a great opportunity to re-establish himself if he wants to," Boyce said.

"The John Ruiz-Nikolay Valuev is a big fight for the WBA title, which is one of the more prestigious belts and is a great platform for Scott.

Have your say on Gammer's return

"The contracts have been signed and sent back for the 30th of August in Germany and this time it's a bit better because it's in Berlin, which is easier to get to.

"Now we've got about six weeks before the fight which is ideal training time to concentrate on the technique and sparring, having done the cardiovascular work."

Gammer decided to hang up his gloves last September after losing to John McDermott, but later had a change of heart.

Undefeated Pianeta bases himself in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

The 6ft 5in Italian has won all 15 of his fights, nine by KO, including a third-round stoppage of American Donnell Wiggins in February for the vacant WBC world youth heavyweight title.

Gammer has an 18-2-1 record, and like Pianeta has nine KO victims, with the Welshman's other loss coming when he relinquished his British title to Danny Williams in March 2007.

Colin Jones use to train Gammer.

a decent fighter - but his limitations were exposed against Danny Williams.

I missed Gammers pro debut in Swansea Liesure Centre back in 2002.

I popped to the bar and when I came back it was all over.

Gammer KO 1 Leighton Morgan in about the 1st minute of the round!
