I noticed the other day when I was sparring with a friend that I have problems coming in on another person. It could have also been that i havent sparred for 3 weeks but i doubt it. Whenever me and my friend were infront of eachother there would be about a second where we look for oppenings and either he or I attack and when i was doing this he counterd me everytime. in the 4th round when we were sparring i started hesitating because it was frustrating that I couldnt hit him and everytime I made a move I was getting hit and countered. does anyone know what could be the reason to this? has this happend to anyone?

ya hes been boxing for 5 years. I think the reason for this happening could be from me changing my fighting style from a more laid back counter puncher to a more aggresive boxer. is this possible?

Everyone gets hesitant when what they are doing isn't working. With experience you'll learn to be able to recognize when something isn't working and adapt quickly.
I'd love to tell you how to do that, but I don't know, I'm still stuck where you are. |

Try different attacks. His quick punches has made you doubt yourself. Throw different punches at different angles and don't telelgraph. If you hesitate for a sec and then punch everytime, thats telegraph. Feint, jab, etc. Mix it up. Try lead jab, lead body and sway your body like bob and weave.
