Allow me to summarize in advance:

Most people will pick LaMotta. This will be a grave insult to modern and British boxers, and further proof that the Classic section has no idea what it's talking about. Especially about Willy Pep, who you can beat. Everyone leaves in a huff.

The End.

This isn't as clear cut as Calzaghe beating Robinson -fullstop- I see Eubanks using his counter-punching skills to take a UD though -fullstop-

Well allow me to buck the expected trend - though CT is right of course - and pick Eubank. I been watching him lately and I think at absolute peak he gives anybody trouble. I think he is a very good package and you must be able to outfight AND outthink him to win...so no one dimensional - which, with all due respect, is what LaMotta is - will EVER beat him at absolute peak.

Eubank in a hard decision after which he is never the same.

Langford KO Roy Jones 12.

In a way. I think the lights went out inside him for a variety of reasons, namely Watson and Benn. But hard fights do tend to take it out of you, that's part of being a boxer.

I would love to have see Hopkins vs Eubank, too smart fighters - I believe both benifited from starting boxing really seriously at a late-ish age -fullstop- Who would you favour in that match-up -questionmark-

That fight would not go down well in the general forum...i'd pick Hopkins on points. I personally do not see it as possible to out-coubnter Hopkins, nor is it possible, in my view, to control the pace against him.

Outdone in both of these areas, Eubank has little hope, almost none.

UD 12.

I agree with that -fullstop- Except I think Joe Calzaghe could control the pace against him -fullstop- I'd go with Hopkins over Eubanks too though, would be a great fight to watch though, even if Hopkins slowed the action -fullstop-

Joe can be drawn, but not held back (in the early rounds) so you may be onto something. I do feel that Cal could be made to fight at to fast a pace - LaMotta is a better fit for Joe stylistically.

LaMotta only real chance (a small real chance though) would be against the 1st prime version (wilder, less disiplined) Calzaghe, I see 2nd prime Calzaghe schooling LaMotta -fullstop-

Allowing for the fact that much of what Cal needs to beat LaMotta is unproven, i'd probably still pick him...but it is inevitable that Jake takes over/scores a TKO at some point...the only question is, how many rounds? I would guess at a number higher than fifteen.
