Not Juan.
Julio the IBF champ. He could well end up being the next fight for Katsidas. IMO this fight could be a classic in terms of drama, more so than Juan because I think Juan will be looking not to trade to much with Katsidas and will be wanting to outwork him over the stretch. The Juan fight could end up being quite one-sided but I reckon no matter what happens a fight with Julio would be exciting. Julio is a good fighter but his chin is definitely dentable. I feel he is a little more crafty than Rocky and could well edge him enough to get the decision, he aint a light hitter either. But Rocky could hurt him and beat him up all night on route to a late stoppage. Hard fight to pick, havent seen enought of Kat at the highest level to see how he would handle Julio Diaz. |

Tough tough fight to call.
Maybe Julio Diaz just by a couple points on the cards. But i cant see him getting past Juan Diaz in October. Last edited by RightCross; 04-09-2006 at 02:16 AM. |

I think, whilst a deserved world champ, he just is to limited to be able to stop Juan Diaz from going to town on him. I think Rocky probably has a slightly better chance. |

was talking to mike last night via his web cam and he still believes if Juan Diaz doesn't fight him next Diaz may still be stripped of his title. Not sure if this will happen but be great to see but when Don King is apart of things anything will and can happen.
Also just for those who want to know Mike is 95% recovered, You wouldn't even know he was in a fight anymore all but 2 small cuts and thats all. |

Julio is a good stand up boxer, not bad speed and a decent punch.
Likes to switch hit and does it fairly well. Its a good matchup with him and Katsidas because he is like a much better version of Graham Earl. Diaz could potentially do to Mike what Earl at times did after the early outslaught, outbox him and outwork him from the outside. He does have a dentable beard but its fairly solid if he doesnt let himself get caught cold like in the Valenzuela fight. He has showed he can take a licking at times. The good thing for Rocky is that Diaz can be open for the left hook and is a pretty easy target after punching. |

I would think Diaz should win by 3 or 4 points with his speed, style and experience. However this is boxing and Rocky wil be in with a good fighters/ punchers chance to stop him late rounds KO.
