Default If Floyd doesn't Win by UD or KO/TKO, is his Legacy Damaged?

Suppose, against all odds, Victor somehow made it a very close fight where he loses by MD or SD, does this hurt Floyd's legacy?

If Mayweather comes out looks like a feeble old man like a 34 year old Leonard did against Terry Norris, then it won't hurt his legacy. If he comes out looking sharp and loses, than it will hurt his legacy.

Floyd is getting old. His legs arent what they were when he was 25. So, it is inevitable at some point, I think he whops Ortiz though

Like B-Hop @ 46 eh!

Floyd never taken any punishment and has superior defense and he can fight on with his style even at age 40+.

If that happens, you must give thanks to God it wasn't Pac he's up against. Pac would murder him.

It depends on Ortiz. If Ortiz looks like a sharp fighter whose hungrier than ever who finally put all of his skills and talent together in a great combination while being in great shape, resulting in a great performance, then a 7-5 victory may be excusable. I'd say it was an indication that he was a bit past it, but it all depends on how Ortiz looks. Floyd's performance will reflect on Ortiz's offense.

Just further prove to me how overrated Floyd is and that he has problems with southpaws.

It really depends on the fight... If Ortiz looks slow and inaccurate and still manages to make it a close fight, then Mayweather will surely lose against Pacquiao and his rep will be damaged. However, if it is a great fight and Mayweather looks sharp then it only proves that Ortiz is at a higher level than many gave him credit for.
