Wow nothing like a man with fully devoleped skills beating a boy still divlopeing his. I'm not saying that Cuba dose not produce good boxers but if they were from any other country they would all be pro when those fights took place. Cuban boxing in the amatures is llike the University of Florida's Football team playing the Indinipious Colts. Who do you think is going to win?

You got me, and I stand corected. However there are allways exciptions to every rule. However most of Cuba's big wins in boxing come against opoents who are still young and devloping their skils, while Cuban boxers are tipicily in their mid 20s and at the top of their game. I'm not knocking the abilities of Cuba's best boxers, but there is almost allways a huge gap in the devlopement between fighters.
I am courious to see how the recent defectors do as pros.
For the record I think they will all have sescusful carrers.

**** Cuban boxers!!

Most of these Cuban amateurs are full grown men who have been competing in the amateurs for years beating up on kids! Literally!

Come to the pro's Cubans and then we'll see how good you really are!

At the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Mayweather won a bronze medal by reaching the finals of the featherweight (57 kg) division's 31-boxer tournament. In the opening round, Mayweather led 10-1 on points over Bakhtiyar Tileganov of Kazakhstan before he won by round 2 referee stoppage. In the second round, Mayweather outpointed Artur Gevorgyan of Armenia 16-3. In the quarterfinals, Mayweather survived a late rally by Lorenzo Aragon of Cuba to win 47-11. In his semifinal bout against the eventual silver medalist, Serafim Todorov of Bulgaria, Mayweather lost by a controversial decision that the U.S. team officially protested. Many who saw the bout, including the referee, (who mistakenly raised Mayweather's hand when the decision was read) believed that Mayweather had won.

I may be mistaken, but i believe PBF was the first American to beat a Cuban in the past 25 years. I remember reading that somewhere.

Hurtado was actually schooling Whitaker until he got caught and KOd late.

One of my favorite Sweet Pea moments. In most of his fights he was so far up, ya had to wonder how he would respond to such a dire situation.....and BOY DID HE REACT WELL!!! 10 straight big right hands and Hurtado was OUT!!! ........OF THE RING!

He was winning Amateur titles from age 16 on. He won his first World Amateur title at 19. He was winning long before he had that advantage.
