I am right now around 206 and I want to get down to 201 or a little bit lower. I have the fat to burn, so no need to worry about my health.
To the question, what do you guys think of slim fast as a way of losing a few pounds? If I do it I'm going to drink it 3 times a day: Breakfast(8:00 a.m.), Lunch(12:00-1:00 p.m.), & Dinner(5:00-6:00 p.m.) and with a lot of water. I'm only gonna do it for a week and of course keep doing my training. So thoughts, comments, suggestions, or observations would all be greatly appreciated. |

I think that's a terrible idea. That's not nearly enough calories to get through a day, let alone to do it an entire week. Starving yourself like that only slows down your metabolism in the long run and causes you to binge out of hunger. Just eat a balanced diet full of fruits, vegetables and lean protein and get plenty of exercise. The weight (and fat) will come off.

Slim Fast didn't work for me personally... I always drank the damn things one after the other, couldn't help it, the chocolate flavor tastes good to me, so I quit buying those a few years back. So Im not the world's leading authority on Slim Fast, but damn do they taste good imo.

If you only want to lose 5 lbs, you could do that with one really hard workout. (It will all be water weight though)
If you want to lose 5 lbs of fat, just eat healthy, cut back just a little bit and workout hard. The weight will come off, especially if you have the fat to lose. The point is...your slim fast plan is not a good idea, and it is sort of unhealthy and will probably make things worse. |

Besides, Slim Fast is full of sugar. You'd be better off just eating light and healthy and taking a multivitamin.

I'm glad I asked. The idea of losing weight and satisfying my sweet tooth at the same time was just too good to be true. Well since the Slim fast thing is not good. What daily calorie intake would you recommend? I'm around 6'6" and have around 10% to 12% body fat.

Go to nutritiondata.com and use the daily needs calculator and it will tell you what you need to eat every day to maintain your weight. Then eat about 500-600 calories less than that. |
