Default Best resumes at 40 Plus - No results prior to 40

Hopkins achievements this year made me wonder who else has been successful at 40plus, and who has the best wins/performances over the age of 40.

Who else goes on this list, because I don't think Moore's wins at 40+ are better than Hopkins

Hopkins - Tarver, Winky Wright, Pavlik and an SD against Calazage. All P4P top 10

Moore - Yvonne Durelle (twice), Rinaldi, Pastrano (draw)

Holmes - Mercer (at 43)

Foreman - Moorer (I think this is the most overrated performance of all time)

Any others?

Hopkins looks head and shoulders above with his 40 plus work, its unpresidented. AND remarkably hes only 1year younger than Whitaker, and 3 years younger than Chavez

The difference with most of those is that they were also good in their 20s.

Moore had 12 losses in his 20s, Hopkins had 2

In terms of a single performance, probably Hopkins. I let my eyes do the talking when it comes to his speed. Hagler's handspeed against Leonard was pale in comparison to Hopkins' and he was only 32 years old at the time. And Hagler was at his prime weight, Hopkins was two weights above his best division. Watch Hopkins' handspeed during the 2nd and 12th rounds in combinations, 3's and 4's, and you'll see it's a lot closer to Leonard's than Hagler's when they fought 21 years ago.

However, Hopkins isn't beating a prime Archie Moore or Bob Foster at the light-heavyweight. Some of the praise being thrown in Hopkins' direction this week has been laughable. I'll freely admit that I'm a fan, but I'd like to think I'm fair and balanced with my views. Give praise where it's due.

Also, Hopkins achieved what in his 20s despite two losses?

I fully agree. That hype is actually hurting Hopkins more than it helps him.

It's laughable- and embarrassing. Moore had about 160 fights under his belt by the time he was 40.

What percentage of those were ranked contenders and what percentage were current/future/past champions? Most of those 160 were bums

I finally tracked down a small report from his debut the other day it said he lost because the other fighter was "busier". Seems it took him until his 30s to learn.

You seen much pre-Tito Hopkins, he was a seek and destoyer, with a high workrate. Especially Hopkins in his 20s

it all depends when u think moores birthday is. if you think his birthday is 1913........then you have to add wins over bobo olsen, harold johnson, clarence henry, nino valdez, Eddie Cotton, bob baker.......and this makes it a better resume than hopkins

if u think his birthday is 1916.......then his best wins are Eddie Cotton(how could u forget this one?),Lavorante, Pastrano(draw), Rinaldi, Pompey, Durelle
