Perhaps I shall offer Kos a bribe to keep the fight standing.

I see why people are picking Koscheck, and in this stylistic matchup I usually back the wrestler, however in this matchup I see Alves as a slightly higher class of overall fighter to be a simple victim of a style clash. Also, I think Kos' ability to inflict punishment on the ground is being a little overrated, not in an absolute sense, but in relation to Alves defense on the ground. Though Kos will surely be able TO take him down. Add in Koschecks truncated camp and Alves size and hes a good pick. Of course Alves stamina must suffer from his weight cut, and Kos has the style to test that out.

I do agree that this is a way tougher fight for Alves than Sanchez would have been.

HAHAHAHA!

How am I always SO WRONG!? Oh well, Alves wins clearly and is the better fighter. Still, I don't think Kos was 100%, he didn't look like his shots were as good as I've seen them before.

Either way, I'm looking forward to Alves-GSP (or Penn), if he can make weight.

Goddamnit Kos, take him down and GnP him for ****s sake; we know you have good striking now, but you aren't going to outstrike Alves.

He waited to long to get takedowns, so he ate leg kicks, and then lost his explosiveness, and was so far behind on the scorecards he had to go for the KO.

Horrible gameplan and execution of it.

Kos overestimated his striking ability. Big mistake. Showed tons of heart but took a beating. Alves is a beast.

Would you stop making excuses every time a wrestler loses? He lost because he wasn't as good a fighter and when he did try to take him down he was unsuccessful. Simple as that. He'd lose in a rematch as well, regardless of gameplan.

gameplans matter, but honestly Kos got his gameplan punch outta his head in the first minute of the fight. Alves just too strong and crisp for Kos. I doubt a rematch would be any different seriously.
