Default Contender - Sam, Sakio

The general forum has a list of the contenders this year with Soliman and Bika in the final cut. Its starting to look like these guys are officially paticipating. This is awesome news for Soliman who I can definately see taking the show out.
I've noticed in the past season the best fighters dont win, the most awkward fighters win. They wont have enough time to prepare between fights to get a grip on Solimans style. Go Sammy.

His personality will be tremendous for the program. I just hope he stay away from all that "doing this for my family" "I am number one dad" crap. That stuff goes without saying. And is cheesy...
Also, the other crap I hated about the first series was the "I have more desire and want it more than my opponent" garbage they all went on with. Its not necessary.

I herd Sam passed on a world title shot against Arthur Abraham for this tv show...and his manager said thats good thinking....I dont know about that....a win in contender gives Sam power like Mnafredo {who cares}.....a win over AA gives Sam a world title belt.

Question- Who thinks this fight would have been made?
Question- Can sam beat AA?
Question- What would you do if you had the choice?

Well in economic terms there is an "opportunity cost" for doing anything. He was probably in negotiations for this title shot and had to make a decision.
I think knowing the personality of Sam and the energy levels and spirit he could make the kind of impression that Gomez made in the first series. If that is the case and if he wins (which is a big possibility in my view) he could be way better off than if he had persuade this title shot. I am curious about the contract post series. And whether he is locked into a couple of years fighting in the states.

The funny thing is that either or both the Aussies could end up with a much higher profile in the US than Mundine.

It's all about being in the right place at the right time....eh?

Soliman probably already has a higher profile in the States than Mundine for his efforts against Winky. Its not a relevant point as Mundine has virtually zero profile in the United States. Someone remind Oz of this as he has me on his "defeated by" list. In fact I am probably the one who put him in the therapy he has just returned from.

Lets hope that is true then. They get the big name in the US and then Mundine creams them
