Although in theory being in much better shape is a positive it comes with the risk of changing a winning formula. He will have trained and eaten differently for starters. There's an unknown with regards to how that will affect power and punch resistance.

Will certainly effect it. Losing that much weight in such a rapid fashion(especially when you've been carrying it around for a long time) isn't healthy. Arreolas actually looked worse and less powerful when he's overtrained and come in 'slim' and that's just one example of many(Hatton comes to mind as well in his ill advised comeback) better to lose it gradually over a long period of time. That being said... Ruiz was screwed from the day this fight was signed. So it probably won't matter in the context of this fight.

    I'm excited about this fight!

Fun info, I trained with both in the past, both are really good guys.

Not really, I seen them beat up some sparring partners, but nothing crazy.

Ruiz dropped a UFC fighter that felt brave with a body shot awhile ago, the UFC fighter wasn't too brave after that... ;)

The punch resistance aspect cannot be underestimated. We have seen in the past what can happen where major weight loss has taken place.

Ruiz a well known pressure fighter, coming in lighter....So will he be able to push around someone at least 3 inches taller and probably heavier.?
