Boxrec is great for record keeping and for knowing what fights are coming up. So I can give them a pass if their rankings don't really make any sense.

People still don't realize all boxing rankings are just someone else's opinion, you may or may not agree. Hard disagree on Ryan at 147 tho....

Yes boxing rec is a valuable source for many reasons. Its ratings are not one of them.

I am not on IG but from a sports fan point of view I imagine their can be some raging arguments about their rankings.

Yeah, that's nuts. But Boxrec is a great site. How many times have we visited it? Yeah, thousands probably.

According to the RIng, Ryan isn't even in the top 10 at 140.

Look lads…it’s boxRec. It’s silly. But does lead to a thing that fighters should be ranked within different weight classes with an asterisk. Is SRR the best welterweight or best middleweight of all time and the answer is…yes.

Who fought in the era of same day weigh ins. It's astounding how people still don't comprehend the difference between same day and day before weigh ins.

Someone makes this thread like once a year.
It´s some algorithm based system, don´t take it seriously. It was as broken in 2008 as it is now in 2024.

    yeah! exactly.
it's a madness. Joshua Clottey is bigger than Dick Tiger which is unfathomable in my head.

Isn't it mostly water weight, Devin Haney still looks significantly smaller than Hagler or Monzon. Garcia is about that size but looks slightly slimmer

its water weight that you lose to make weight. When you rehydrate back up you're back to normal, which is what Hagler was always at because he didn't need to cut.
