    Danny Santiago

in the last 4 1/2 years Santiago has 4 fights
getting knocked out twice...and winning two 8 rounders against guys not even rated in the top 100. he has been inactive for 13 months...

    2007-01-27 LOST TKO8 Zsolt Erdei
    2007-12-01 LOST TKO4 Antonio Tarver
    2008 INACTIVE
    2009-05-16 W8 Paul Jennette record 10 wins 1 loss
2010-05-21 W8 MAJORITY DEC Billy Bailey record 10 wins 6 losses
    2011 INACTIVE

all that hard work and he is rewarded with

2011-07-29 Beibut Shumenov WBA World light heavyweight title

a world title used to be something that was earned.....beating guys in the top 10, working your way up the ladder.....this is pathetic.. :huh

How can you blaim the WBA for this fight happening?

It could be a rainy day and the WBA wold be blaimed for it.

Gift decision to win the title and now gift defences. Shame really as after his comp in the first 6 or 7 fights people had real high hopes for him (although he is still a rookie I suppose)

Hey don't insult the WBA, i'm currently the Interim WBA NABA Light Heavyweight Bronze Super New York Macy's Champion. Now sure I haven't had a pro fight in my life, but they can see potential and they decided to give me a title first....

Which is worse, the WBA just giving out belts left and right or the WBC stripping guys to give out belts?

And really Beibut? Doesn't this guy ever want to get a TV fight? I mean Jesus fight someone else, Kelly Pavlik, Allan Green, Sakio Bika? Anyone one of those guys would be miles ahead of that bum.

  11. At least Shumeov is getting back into the ring. Hopefully this is just a tune-up

It is Shemenovs promoters ****ing fault for this fight to be taking place! Not the WBA champions fault.

The WBA is an outstanding highly respectable organization.

If you haven't noticed, Shumenov is a joke. He got that belt via one of the worst robberies of the last 10 years. He then fights bums, because if he steps up his level of competition he will likely get knocked the fvck out.

You are kidding right? As bad as the scoring was for the Campillo vs Shumenov rematch, a respectable organization would have filed a full investigation, and nullified the result of a Shumenov split decision, then at least enforce an immediate rematch so that Shumenov could get his ass whooped again, this time with the right scoring to accompany it.
