Jack look at how many World Title fights Genaro Rodriguez has done. He is very experienced. I am beginning to think you don't watch Boxing again. I mean I know you would rather they trot out a disgraceful referee like Dave Parris or Terry O'Connor so he can "help" Haye like they had to bail out Glass Jawed Ricky Hatton on multiple occasions.
He should save his energy for the fight, whining over the ref nine days before the fight tells me all I need to know about his state of mind. If he was ultra confident he could win, the ref issue would be non existent.
Refs have to be licensed in the states/countries in which they will ref. Now I doubt the German Athletic/Boxing Commission couldn't twist a arm or regulation to get a Cortez, Bayless, Weeks, etc. to ref the fight. But they have a solid vested interest in seeing Klitschko do well and if that means they give him a ref he is on good terms with then so be it for them.
Tony Weeks and Randy Nuemann have both refereed fights in Germany. Matter of fact both have done Klitschko fights in Germany. :hi:
Sure is. There's nothing wrong with Rodriguez...he's been the ref for many title fights, fighters such as Brewster, Golota, Joe Calzaghe, Marco Huck, Malignaggi, etc..., and he's been a ref for over 20-years.
No the point is he was trying to say Haye is going to complain about corners and gloves next when that is clearly already sorted.
You guys don't get it, he's reffed his fights before so obviously you help our man we give you future work.
Rodriguez gave Wlad a lot of extra time after the first Sanders knockdown. I can see Haye's gripe actually.
Obviously Booth and Haye saw something in other fights that they didn't like and are objecting, nothing wrong with that imo. FFS there's dozens of refs qualified out there, why not just assign another where both fighters agree?
I understand what his point was. Like I said Haye "conceding" to the gloves was a joke because he ALREADY wears the same gloves that Klitschko does. There was nothing to "concede" to begin with.
