Both of them are close to shot, but at least Shamrock is in shape man. Toney was a badass 10-15 yrs ago. Now he's just a fatass. Very disgraceful to boxing. Plus this is Shamrock's domain, not a boxing ring so should favor Shamrock. At least Jeremy Williams and Mercer somewhat havent looked too bad representing boxers in MMA.
Goosen said the highest payday he could get Toney in Boxing was 50k :roflatsch he is and has been irrelevant for years now. He is a fat steroid addicted slob.
He got paid more in MMA once as a sideshow type attraction. MMA pay's it's elite fighters much less than boxing.
This is some sad ****. Even though Ken is well past his prime he is going to make Toney look stupid. Shamrock by either heel hook or knee bar in the 1st.
how much can they make for this fight? it can't be much. anyone who was delusional enuff to think that toney can do anything in the cage surely wised up after seeing toney totally embarass himself vs couture (who had to be a bit embarassed himself). plus ken has been losing or getting hurt or both versus relatively weak pro mma comp for about 4 years or so. so who exactly is going to pay money for this fight? maybe if it was held in a strip club for $5 dollars it might be interesting, but other than that.... guess even if they're getting 15k it's worth it to these guys. but they gotta see the writing on the wall
I know Ken is shot to peices, and Toney was shot in boxing at least 5-10 years ago, but I'm actually kind of interested. Toney, although nobody gave him credit, I think he came in pretty good shape (at least for Toney) when he fought Couture, and seemed like he was actually training. Couture...I didn't expect him to stand any amount of time with Toney, but that shoot was the most cowardly shoot I've ever seen! He swoops down shooting for a leg, seems a bit reluctant, goes down even further, and grabs a FOOT! Not a leg...A FOOT! I was also impressed with Toney in the fact that Couture had him on the ground, and TOney never stopped trying to land punches off his back, hold back, etc. Of course he was a fish out of water, but gotta give the man some credit. Him lasting on his back against Couture for more than minute surprised the crap out of me. If he hits Ken, if He'd have hit Couture with virtually anything they'd be knocked out. I beleive judging by Couture's shoot he'd agree with me. Toney wasn't the most gynormous puncher in boxing, but with 4 oz gloves, speed, and accuracy the MMA world hasn't seen...I bet one uppercut on Ken (if he can land it) it's lights out. If Toney worked in his ground game since fighting Couture (I doubt he did though LOL) then perhaps he could survive a while if Ken gets him down.
why is it always the boxer that has to fight in MMA rules and he gets tackled. I mean for once, just once can we have them fight in boxing rules so we can give one of the boxer has beens a KO win? (besides mercer's one off) I mean not only do they pick shot boxers over 40 but then they make them fight under their MMA rules. I mean its a bit like an old chess champion challenging the winner of the special ed schools tic tac toe competition.
