    prolly....must understand that a punch from the ground to a still dummy that has nothing to fall back on is naturally gonna create the intended impact than if he was standing .

    you're not much of a GSP fan are you?

    I'm conflicted over this issue. I do think there needs to be a rule change or some sort of change which makes it a more level playing field between strikers and grapplers, but on the other hand it isn't going to do MMA's global image any good for politicians and casual fans and the like to see clips of guys taking massive boots to the facial features..

    "Usually it's blocked"...Yeah, but what if it isn't, or what if some guys basically out cold, cannot defend himself, and the ref fails to do his job. You got any idea of how strong your legs are compared to your arms? If somebody was out, and some guy with strong legs picks his legs up, and explodes down on somebodies nose with the heel of his foot...Isn't going well my friend.
    I do agree that it wouldn't be common, and probably nobody would land it for quite a while. Anybody with half way decent since would block it, or attempt to block, but like I said if somebody couldn't really defend themselves then that'd be ugly. I mean Silva knocked out Belfort with a front kick on his feet (this is when Belfort can actually move his head to take some power off the strike, and his head snaps back so it's not completely solid). If Silva would kick him on the ground, and Belfort's head had no place to go I couldn't imagine how much more damange that'd be.

    Stomps I'm ok with being left illegal, but soccer kicks, 12:6 elbows, knees to head to grounded opponent, and up-kicks need to be legal. It will severely level the playing field for strikers.

    He'd have to get the guy to the ground first. And also guys would be able to do it to him.

    I know one thing, if stomps and soccer kicks were allowed he would not have been throwing any against Jon Jones :deal

    Look at Rua from PRIDE and compare him to now.. I'm not saying he would've beaten Jones BUT he has forgotten his Thai clinch, his trips, his knees... He lost the brutality that made him great.

    That's bull****.

    Couture was weak as ****. His **** was a 1/3 weaker than Toney's.

    He threw at about 900 lbs.
