martin power getting demolished by an unbeaten but unknown south african tshifiwa munyai. power looked at euro honours and possible world title tilt. but munyai just obliterated him. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yan59nUHMyQ"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yan59nUHMyQ[/ame] prince arron who went pro and was still on the dole when he was 18, fought duddy and anthony small but wasnt a puncher and even though tall was frail and easy to bully. few years later he goes into the prizefighter as a chancing underdog, wins it. with only 4 ko's in his 20 - 3 career. he fights sam webb, a prospect and a good amatuer, who beat concepcion and small. looked like he had turned into a bit of a boxer and had a good left hook to the body. the frail looking arron you would assume would possibly be bullied and outpointed. he didnt. he went for it, and bulled him back and kept throwing meaty shots. What a shocking upset that was in '93! Highly regarded 38-1 WBO champ Morrison obliterated in a round by a 12-fight novice! :scaredas:
Cristian Mijares getting outboxed, outfought and knocked out by vic darchyinian whilst on a hot streak was a shocker.
Martinez v Williams II comes to mind just because I don't think many people were aware Sergio could crack like that. The way that Seldon went out against Tyson was definately unexpected. McCall vs Lewis II ended in an unexpected & bizzare way. Jones v Tarver was shocking Donaire vs Darchinyan was completely unexpected to me. However, Donaire v Montiel's end wasn't - Donaire bareyl missed a ferocious uppercut earlier in the fight and I remember saying at the time that if it had connected he would do to Montiel what he did to Darchinyan. Montiel getting to his feet was unexpected.
Tyson vs. Spinks! Tyson-Haters in the general constantly say they knew exactly what the outcome would be of this Superfight & Michael Spinks was just a "blown-up Light Heavyweight", while praising the Klits for fighting Haye, Byrd & Adamek...
Lewis - McCall 2 Holyfield - Williams - nevere ever thought id see Holy take the easy way out, not even ancient Holy
