If he's not trying to purchase with them what law is he breaking? It was illegal many years ago go photocopy US currency, but that law was done away with. You can photocopy US currency, but it's illegal to pass it off as legal tender.

You'd be surprised. Sugar Ray Leonard in his book even admits to acting like someone else in front of the camera to charm people and sell boxing fights.
