go watch tuas left hook against darroll wilson...thats the shortest left hook in history....GET BACK TO ME:huh
Wlads left hook WAS excellent but he has let it go and rarely uses it or fights that agressive anymore its a damn shame, he does not fight inside to any extent anymore
Yes thats true!.....but its also lower than hayes....so what has ko% got to do with it klit licker???
Wlad does have a lovely left hook. But he doesn't use it with GREAT regularity, nor does he mix it up to the head and body as other fighters in HW have done. Yes it has a lot of power and yeah it doesn't have to travel a great distance, but because he doesn't seem to have huge confidence in it, it's always going to play second fiddle to his right hand. In terms of heavyweights I'd rate Tyson, Tua, Morrison and Gerry Cooney as better hookers. Especially since Morrison and ESPECIALLY Cooney didn't have much in the way of right hand offence (ok Morrison did use uppercuts), Cooney used to throw his right just to generate more leverage for the next left he was hurling. The amazing thing with his hook was it didn't APPEAR to be as dramatic in it's motion, but the effects were devastating on opponents, either to the head and body. When he whacked Larry Holmes to the body in the first round ( I have the match on tape), it made an audible thudding sound and Larry's eyes bulged in shock from the force of it...and it wasn't even that well placed. Honourable mentions off the top of my head for other good hookers at HW (I'm going to miss some so forgive me) have to include a young George Foreman, Mike Weaver, Floyd Patterson's hook was lightning fast and pretty accurate too and Evander Holyfields was potent as well. He dropped a very fit (224 lbs I think) Mercer with one hook, dropped Bowe with a hook, it was a hook that dropped Moorer in the second of their first fight and a hook that initially wobbled Dokes in the 10th of their match too.
Wladimir Klitschko has maybe the best jab in the hw history. His left hook are among the best also but there are so many with crazy left hooks as many mentioned. Take a look at 2.40. Sweet left hook [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnbcE18eCP8[/ame]
I think Emmanuel Steward has said that Lewis was a better fighter all around, but in sheer power, Wlad is better. Which is probably why many of his opponents goes into survival mode after some few shots. They realise they are up against something abnormal. Not like everything Emmanuel Steward says is gospel, but you can clearly make a case of Wlad beeing a bigger punsher.
