Is there any chance that David Haye will try outpoint Wlad?

He could try but he'd get his head jabbed clean off. He has to go for the KO remember they are fighting in Germany.

 

I expect him to try to use movement to limit Wladimir's ability to get off with his jab, while jumping in with the occasional pot-shot or explosion. Kind of like how he fought Valuev, except Klitschko has better timing, skills, speed, and power than SNV, which means Haye will probably find himself looking up at the lights sooner than later.

 

Wlad isn't no Valuev, Valuev's legs were shot to **** completely. This is totally different. His only chance is to engage and catch Wlad early in my opinion or he will tire quickly and be finished. If I was him I would swing for the fences at the bell and hope to land something fast like Sanders did.

 

Maybe Haye thinks he has the speed and timing of Wlad.

 

There is absolutely no way Haye outpoints Wlad unless (!) he gets 2-3 knocksdowns counted as 10-8 rounds.

 

Just listening to ex boxers on ringside made me think maybe he will at least test the waters trying to outbox vlad. They were also right in saying everyone thinks he can only win via KO but he does actually have the speed and relexes to possibly outpoint vlad.

It would be foolish for us to think its not at least a possibility. Let's think back to the groves de gale fight where probably 99 percent of us including me_
were wrong.

I strongly disagree. Wlad's punch output is about 200-400% higher than Haye's. Bar major knockdowns, it's virtually impossible for Haye to win this on the scorecards.

Ever since he came to HW Haye boxes in short spurts, his output is way too low. It may be enough to stun and knock down/stop Wlad but not enough to put up a technical 12 round boxing clinic.

 

I dont think He'll try to outpoint him but it might happen if he doesnt get the KO

 

That may very well be the case, unfortunately for him. They might really think if he could do it against a bigger Valuev, he could also beat Wlad by being cautious throwing a couple of punches every round. This strategy is a guaranteed loss.

 

I think there's a very good chance he will try to put on a similar performance to the Valuev fight, although he'll always be looking to knock him out while doing it. If he fights that way, I think it's a mistake but if he fought that way against SNV, I'm sure it's more than possible he tries it with Wlad.

 

I don't remember Haye outboxing anybody.He certainly doesn't have the tools to outbox Wlad.
He should fight to his strengths,which are speed and power.
Having said all of this,i think he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't,if he tries to outbox Wlad he'll get outboxed and eventually opened up for a big right.If he tries to rush Wlad at the start,he may walk onto something.
