For resume, although he is not best ever, I'd say Froeman. Winning title, then winning tile belt almost 20 years later is amazing. Louis comes close, holding title so long, then coming back to beat some top contenders.

    Ranked purely on best wins:

    1. Ali (Liston x2, Frazier x2, Foreman, Norton)

    2. Holyfield (Old Foreman, Bowe, Tyson x2)

    ali

he beat every hw great of the era, some more than once (frazier, foreman, liston)

not to mention every fringe contender too (spinks, who was champ at one point after beating ali, bonavena, chuvalo etc)

he also beat some past it atgs who were still capable (moore, patterson)

foreman? hell no. winning the title 20 years apart doesn't make his resume better.

joe louis also dosen't have the best resume ever. it was filled with a lot of bums.

I am not a "close thread" guy, but Ali is the answer.
