Completely agree Rico, I scored it a draw but calling this a robbery is far-fetched

Duddy asks if they'd like to move to a neutral venue and Macklin (along with Brian Peters) suggest Las Vegas or MSG in New York.

Man, I miss Duddy. It would have been great to see him in with either Macklin or Sturm. He would have lost wide decisions to both but it would have been lots of fun. Hopefully he's fulfilled in this new role and is able to find a long-standing niche as an on-air boxing personality.

not a robbery either way you look at it but 116-112 is too wide

    Highlights of Charr-Williams!!!

Damn, Manuel was obliterating him early with left hooks. Williams got his chin turned in every direction whenever Charr unloaded on him. Williams looked to be in pretty good shape but was winded by the third, throwing limp uppercuts to the body while Charr just drilled him with left hooks and straight rights. Not much in the way of flashy hand speed from Charr, just solid heavy shots and all well-placed. Williams was just pecking away with body shots, huffing and puffing through the middle rounds although he did open a cut on Charr's face at some point. In the 7th Williams went hog wild and opened up with over a dozen unanswered left and right hooks, but punched himself off. Charr took advantage and rallied back, but the stoppage looked a bit weak.

Sturm's record in Germany is now 32-1-1. Do the math...you've got to KO him to win.

Touching reflection on Nick Charles, who passed away this morning.

Although Dan Rafael isn't my favorite person, it's classy of him to share his memories of Nick and give him his dues.

This is pro boxing.Quality over quanity-Mack threw ALOT of arm punchers were Strum threw the harder and sharper blows.

I thought it was a draw and 116-112 is too wide I agree.

Strum blocked ALOT of Macklins punches.

Whose face was beat up?Not Sturms.

All told it was a great fight but not one of Sturms better performances.
Mack did himself proud but if rematched Strum will beat him.

Looks that way. ESB will probably be no more next week with Klitschko-Haye facing off.

    :good

I think many of us were ready to shout "robbery!" before the first bell even sounded off, all because it's Germany and it was Felix Sturm.

Doesn't mean he won the fight. Macklin's face gets beat up after a round on the heavy bag.

4 rounds to Sturm is a complete joke. He only won 2 rounds clearly, Macklin won at least 5 clearly. This crap really undermines the sport. I think these judges need to be named and shamed like the Japanese judge in Froch's last fight. How can they be fair when they are being paid by the home promoter?

Sturm's 3 or 4 class shots (rocking the head back or not ) in 3 minutes does not win a round when someone is marching you down and unloading a frickin barrage of shots. He did nothing for 6 rounds. Sturm was never in control of the fight. He was robbed v DLH so he should give Macklin a rematch.

Personally I think you can only win a fight in Germany if you KO the opponent.

Everyone who's outraged and complaining here on ESB would all have scored it for Sturm if you were the judges.

The reason is simple: good head. And by that I mean reaaaally good head. 24/7 head. No man says no to that.

The judge who scored it for Macklin was gay. Obviously.

So all you hypocrites shut up.
