Massive respect to Macklin

agree but macklins team can't go complaining about robbery they new how it works when they signed for the fight.

 

I always score the close rounds to the home fighter, not saying its right or fair but its the more realistic approach when it comes to the official outcome.

 

The idea of scoring fights yourself is having your own independent opinion on the fight. It's not to predict how the judges will score it.

Why would you give a guy a round because of where the fight is being held? It's completely asinine.

the knife suprised me tonight, didn't think he could stand with sturm as he did-massive props to him, proved his world class. as for robbery, not really , sturms work was just a bit sharper,and he showed a great second gear from 7 onwards-credit to his conditioning--how many minutes do you reckon it was between actually getting into the ring and starting the fight for matt?--i know it's the old gamesmanship and hometown advantage, but there really should be an official time limit-got to show respect when someone flies in to challenge you..

 

It was a fight that could have gone either way, but I had it 115-113 to Sturm. The rounds that Macklin won were done so by a wide margin, but the majority of Sturm's rounds were won narrowly in my book.

Massive props to Macklin, though. He did everything right.

 

I agree. Score the fight how you see the see the fight and then acknowledge that the judges may score it for the home fighter. But at least keep your own card "honest".

 

Well looking at it this way, Macklin fought a weight drained Sturm, & still managed to lose!

Ok. To clarify in terms of predicting the official score card I score the close rounds to the home fighter. I keep my own card for my personal benefit. This varies depending on who the fighter is and where the fight is. Personally I had Macklin drawing or maybe winning a round. Did I think this would be the official outcome in Germany. Did I ****. That would be naive.

Macklin has nothing to be ashamed of after tonight. He showed the heart and desire of a champion, what a performance by him.

Absolutely gutted he didn't get the nod, I honestly thought he done enough.
