I wrote him off before the fight so his performance has changed my opinion of him. Great fight and he deserves a rematch. I scored it 7-5 to Sturm for the harder more hurtful shots, some real close rounds though.
all very well guys , but i bet you were predicting he would get smashed tonight?? he held his own, but admittedly came up short, give him some respect:huh
He lost but closer than those two judges had it. At least it was a split decision and hopefully this can catapult him to more big things.
Never predicted anything cos i ain't overly impressed by Sturm. Wasn't sure how fight would go but always felt he had a chance... I give him props on display but that's it..he's still a ****.
Nah not really but read lot of bollocks he come out with in past and in general just don't like way he behaved when Ricky was fighting in U.S getting pissed while the man's getting ready for a fight. Don't need to get defensive over him pal...he wouldn't care i'm just a flash cockney ******* in his eyes. Damn right i am!
oh, i've followed that bitterness in a few threads over the last week, i try not to get mixed up in it and just base opinions on the boxing rather than his genes, seems like a few people got irked by it though....
I predicted at round 4 it would be a split decision falling against Macklin. He'd have needed to have kept that going until round 9 at least to win there. Objectively i had it level at the end and suspected the late flurry might swing in to Sturm, the 6point swing was embarrasing once again though. Macklin has earned a lot of respect tonight, i'll be following his fights much closer for sure, Lennox Lewis appears to be a fan, he's called tonight a robbery.
Personally and tbh i think many laugh at it and banter away with the Irish. He can be what he wants i mean that's way sport is nowadays with sportsmen playing/fighting for other nations. Some take it to heart but for me he's no great loss. Hence Matt ''The Plastic Knife'' Macklin....
