    Round 3

Coyne is falling in with right hooks and left uppercuts, but getting clinched by the muscular McNemar every time he gets going. McNemar leaps in with an overhand right thrown in mid-air and then swipes with a wild hook as he touches down. McNemar is grabbing, spinning, and shoving - very rough but not very effective. All the clean punching done by Coyne, and only one or two at a time.

    30-27 Coyne

Guillermo Jones would probably stop both of them on the same night.

so 12 round fights should be reserved for championship fights? although a 10 round fight can sometimes be more exciting it often leads to more controversy with the result thats the problem i see with it, especially that a loss for any of the fighters really does derail their career. its the biggest fight in their career for both fighters so deserves to be a 12 round fight.

    Round 4

Coyne digs a lead left to the body. McNemar is jabbing up high and dropping his own declining missiles to the body of Coyne. McNemar is only landing downstairs, never getting near the head of Coyne. McNemar hooks his left elbow around Coyne's right bicep and tries to dislocate something with a powerful jerk. That phrase best describes McNemar actually - a powerful jerk. :yep It's clear from his build and his ability to control the clinches that he's quite strong but he isn't putting that strength into any productive clean effective punching...just borderline dirty roughhouse tactics. Coyne is sliding around in a wide loop around McNemar, shifting his arms in circular motions and looking to pot shot with his right jab.

    40-36 Coyne

Rounds 11 and 12 are called the "championship rounds"...

    Well...yes, traditionally.

If Pacquiao and Mayweather ever meet and neither has a title, it shouldn't really be 12 rounds IMO. It doesn't matter how "big" a fighter is or how "important" the match.

12 rounds should typically mean there's a world (or lesser) championship of some sort on the line.

In some cases eliminators get the 12 round treatment, which I'm fine with (but also not worried about it if they don't).

According to Boxrec it is. Of course, according to Boxrec it's still 12 rounds (but that has been confirmed to be inaccurate by multiple sources in the last 24 hours).

    Round 5

McNemar is surging forward with left hooks to the body and right hands up top. Everything is a fully loaded power punch and he starts to get Coyne going into extreme defensive mode. Solid right hand to the jaw by McNemar. Coyne is popping his right jab, darting out after landing it with a grunt. There's a left uppercut by Coyne. Clinch. Mouthpiece out, replaced for Coyne. Smoger sends him to a neutral corner to reset. McNemar chases him into a corner with a double jab and right to the body. Right hook by Coyne.

    Closest round so far.

    10-9 McNemar

    49-46 Coyne

    The graphic might be wrong.

I'm pretty sure with Jones pulling out this is no longer actually scheduled for 12 as it isn't for the title.
