2nd round is clearly Devon's round. Had him up 2-0

Nah. He can box a bit. He knows he needs the KO here in St. Louis, though - so his game plan is centered around just throwing bombs.

So it's a non-title fight so they decided to not add the championship rounds. Plus 10 rounds favors Alexander.

Yes, there has to be a reason. It either has to be a title or a final eliminator for one.

Boxrec has this listed as an eliminator, but it also has it incorrectly listed as being for 12 (so we can assume they're wrong about it being an eliminator too).

    Round 3

Alexander is throwing jabs and lead lefts from mid range. Matthysse is grinding his way in and working right uppercuts in the clinch, the only one infighting. Alexander is doing all his work on the outside, slipping Matthysse's left jabs and popping his fast southpaw 1-2. Nice defense by Alexander. Matthysse tries to step outside Alexander's lead foot altogether and home in with a jab to the side of the head but just grazes.

    30-27 Alexander

I've never been a big fan of Alexander's but I really like the way he's fighting tonight.

Matt's catching Alex a bit more in the beginning of this round. He seems to be making Alex rush and look a little panicky as he's stalked. Don't know if Alex can continue running like this without gassing later on.

    2-1 to Matt.
