    Not a robbery, but I think most people are upset about that 96-93 card for Alexander. Hard to come to that conclusion.

    i watched the sky sports version of the fight so i listend to the english commentators . wtf was roy saying ? i hope he aint say devon won the fight and i did not get to hear the post fight comments. anyone care to fill me in ?

    So is disregarding the existence of such a thing as "close but clear".

    If someone couldn't possibly be given more than half the rounds in a fight (and got knocked down) then yes, it's a robbery if they win. Whether it should have been wide or a close for the other guy, doesn't matter.

    In this case, I had it a draw minus the knockdown but could NOT fathom swinging any of my Matthysse rounds to Alexander. Not one. The absolute maximum I can see for Alexander is the number of rounds I gave him - five. Not one more is acceptable. Matthysse's five rounds were solid, and crystal clear (whereas not all of Alexander's were...so it could be more in Matthysse's favor than the 95-94 I had. Wiggle room in one direction; not the other). Plus he had the knockdown. Therefore...him not winning is wrong.

    That maybe true. But that's just not how it works. Matthysse was outlanding Alexander. And with harder punches. That usually gives a win. Dispite how hard Alexander is trying.

    There should be a rule that if it's a Split Decision in somebody's hometown then that counts as a Draw.

    Either that or Don King could get out of boxing...

    That about sums it up. I'm not surprised Alexander won, but if this fight were anywhere but St Louis, I think we'd have seen a completely different outcome.

    If anybody deserved to win the fight, it was Matthysse. I thought it was close, but clear. Alexander is decidedly average. It's been proven time and time again and it'll only get worse as he increases his competition after this.

    I def. agree the 96-93 was unacceptable for either fighter in my opinion, a real close fight.

    With judging a pro boxing match being subjective. I think that any card +/- 1 from the popular decision is a reasonable score. 96-93 may seem excesive and I asume you are refering to the card favoring Alexander?
