Was Matthysse robbed?

I was thinking the same thing. All Alexander did that round was hug, run, and get hit in the face.

I was worried about this decision the moment I saw one of the judges was from the Kotelnik fight and had given it to Alexander 116-112.

 

And that commentator was really bad. His facts were wrong and he didn't offer any opinion on scoring until the very end, terrible commentator.

 

Lucas clearly won the 10th. When one guy is backing up the other fighter and landing more and harder punches he wins the round. This fight was not debatable on who won.

 

He was like a bobblehead the last round. every puch Lucas landed snapped his head back. Alexander did nothing but run and throw non scoring shoeshine punches. Lucas clearly won the 10th.

 

Hell yes he was...He out landed the boxer, matthysse landed bone crushing shots (alexander has a great chin) and he knocked alexander down once! 95-94 for matthysse is a bad score for this fight... matthysse won by 3 points!

 

How did that judge even get to work this fight with all the contraversy fron the Kotelnik fight, such political bull****

 

I disagree there was a commentator dont know if his name was Kenny? but was only focusing on Matthysse and not on Alexander. I truly believe this was a close fight not a robbery and people were really influence and thinking of the Judah fight the way they were viewing this fight. Matthysse keeps on gaining fans and I understand but he had his chances and good moments and needs to learn to close them out.

At what time in that round did he begin to back out Alexander, boxing counts is not only about slugging.

 

So you were watching on Premier, not HBO? Dave Bontempo and that dude Kenny whatever were the commentators for the Premier broadcast (which is how I saw the Coyne-McNemar bout before switching over to HBO for the main card).

Merchant was the only one on the HBO crew giving Matthysse any credit, and he was quiet for long stretches of time when Matthysse was landing right hands that shook Alexander's whole face. Papa and Jones were calling every Alexander shot.

Jones in particular wore his pro-Alexander bias on his sleeve.

 

I think Devon should do the right thing and give that belt to Matthysse.

These judges are bribed.We all know Devon knows he lost that fight.

Don't try to defend the undefendable! Alexander lost, plain and simple! The scorecard were **** and what was up with the same judge as the on from the Klotenik fight? atsch Alexander did win some round but all together the fight was won by Lucas. The only reason Alexander won is because he is fighting at home and ofcourse becasue he has a "fan base" on the US than compared to Lucas who is from Argentina. This **** is ridiculous how they manage boxing politics.

 

Yes. That dude Kenny was riding high on Matthysse, didnt even acknowledge anything that Alexander did many times. He was basically giving the fight to Matthysse after the knockdown.
