Has Dirrell beaten any SMW at Brewers level or anyone who has gone on in their career like Braehmer... No, so why do you think Dirrell would beat Veit

Are you seriously implying that Braehmer is better than Abraham? I don't think even Braehmer would say that. And it's not like Braehmer beat anyone special to win that title.

Thankyou Popkins, Not sure what this has to do with Veit vs Dirrell and you should open up another thread, but just for you

BH vs KS - a rough fight with alot of fouls, a prime Hopkins wins on points in a bore, the Hopkins of today holds alot, in this fight, fakes low blows, claims to be rabbit punched and wins a closer but fair UD in another boring fight

JT vs EA - Can Toney still make MW or SMW? I guess you mean SMW Toney who i think would, fight within his abilities a bit and win a close decision

CD vs MAJ - Dawson to box a clear victory, but im basing this on Dawson being effective at SMW which we dont know, it could well be MAJ by KO, we dont know how Dawson will be at the weight

AA vs RT - Boring fight with AA scoring a KD on way to a late stoppage finish or points

Your Gran vs MM - Ive not met or seen your Gran, if shes anything like what ive read from you, I dont think head shots will do too much damage, but i'll still go for Mkertchyan to bust her up for a 1st round stoppage

    Hope this helps :good

Not neccesarily, but AA hasnt really beaten anyone of note either, was a small MW and as a SMW AA hasnt got much to go on, where as Braehmer at least is a naturally big man, and id say Brewer would have been a step up for Dirrell entering the super 6 and Brewer has done more as a SMW than AA

i just love how americans hype there fighters up when they have achieved nothing.

dirrell lost to a severely limited fighter in carl froch and then he gets KTFO by abrahams. apparently this outstanding resume qualifies you to be regarded as the next coming of sugar ray robinson . . . . . . . . only in america!

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

Obviously it takes Sugar Ray Robinson to beat Mario Veit

It's not like this question was about Sven Ottke or Chris Eubank or Steve Collins or Thulani Malinga or someone else who was actually GOOD. This is a second-rate fighter who struggled at the Euro level and whose only saving graces were the fact that he was a decent boxer and was really tall.

And has some wins over better SMWs than Dirrell remember. Dirrell seemed nervous of Froch and although Veit isnt as powerful as Froch, he is more imposing, with a good jab. Remember how well he dismantled Brewer? Who although towards the end of his career is still a level above any SMW Dirrell has beaten

    AA would have KO Brewer.

and the Brewer that Veit beat, was past it.

    Calzaghe nutthugging policy:

Big up Brewer which makes Calzaghe look better, and also makes Mario Veit look better which also makes Calzaghe look better.

Calzaghe's opponents were so poor he ran out of opponents and had to fight the golfer Miguel Angel Jiminez.

And he still couldn't knock him out....

To say AA would have beat Brewer is speculative as AA hasnt beaten any top SMW or top MW for that, and Brewer is still KOing contenders like Pemberton, but would AA have beaten undefeated Braehmer as well do you think?

The real fight to speculate on is a third bout between Veit and Calzaghe. Veit really showed significant improvements and his ability to change up his tactics in his decisive win against the red hot Andrejevs.

The first time Calzaghe beat Veit, Veit was 30-0 and hadnt beaten anyone of real note, hence he was blown away in a round by Calzaghe.
When Calzaghe beat Veit a 2nd time Veit was an accomplished world rated 45-1 fighter who had some solid victories behind him, and was top 10 rated.
Veit had beaten undefeated Dziarra who wasnt a great fighter but did go on to beat L Mock and undefeated M Oral who would go on to challenge MW champs A Abraham and S Sylvester recently.
Veit had also beaten beaten undefeated Guerrero for the European union title.
Veit beat future title challenger Salem and Mock.
Veit also beat world rated C Brewer with an educated destructive 9th round KO.
A note on Veit. He only ever lost to world champs or fighters who became world champs and has victories over Mock, Salem, Perdermo (a future Kessler challenger), Brewer when Brewer was world rated and Veit beat undefeated Braehmer who is now the current WBO LHW champ due for a unification fight in JAN 2011. Since not happend due to illness, later stripped, but not defeated in the ring.

Veits jab would have given Dirrell all kinds of problems.
