Hopkins' mw unification win over p4p#2 40-0(34) 3-weight champion and HOF class fighter Felix Trinidad is light years ahead of anything Ottke ever done.

The quality of opposition that Hopkins dominated (WBC champ Keith Holmes, Glen Johnson, William Joppy) is better than the quality of opposition that Ottke really struggled with.

The point of my comments about Ottke vs reid is the fact Ottke coached the ref throught the fight. He tells the ref to warn Reid for punching him correclty, immediately afterwards ottke butts reid, punches him in the kidneys and tells the ref. while holding reid, reid head is dangerous.

It is not like it is just a bad ref or poor judges. Ottke actually was aloud to ref. the fight as he wants as well. It is so aplauding it is unber believeable. Even if he was sugar ray robinson he would be an utter disgrace.

To this day Ottke name is a black mark for boxing. The germans would not get half the stick they do for home down decision if it was not for Ottke. There is a difference between judging in mexico and europe. european go more for amateur style scoring where clear punches landed are ahead of power punches. So Ottke style would look bad to most Americans and a lot of his fights he would have lost in the USA. However there are two or three you could not give him even by the european standard. Then you have Ottke vs Reid to rub it in.
