It's probably fairer to say that Floyd more visibly exposes weaknesses in other fighters that observers might be exploit later. That said, if anyone has published a "blueprint" on Ortiz that Pac can use, it's Maidana. His style is much closer to Pac's than Floyd's is.
what blueprint? they have two different fighting styles so what you have said is irrelevant. as many pachaters say, pac easily dominates or even ktfo ortiz due to his ortiz' aggressive style, which is what pac like to brawl with. so to answer the op question, there's really no fighter left for pac unless pac-mayweather gets to be signed, or pac agrees to *****s that he should fight slick black american fighter, but who? guess who, mayweather again.
Arum mentioned Bradley as a potential opponent after the Mosely fight. Now it's pretty obvious at this point that it was going to be Marquez the whole time, but I think a lot of people would've liked to have seen a Pacquiao/Bradley matchup.
I would've had absolutely no problem with Marquez/Paquiao 3 had it not be for the weight issue. Paquiao's camp is always talking about leveling the playing field with Pac's past catchweight fights. But then he is fighting someone who's last fight above 140 made him look pretty average. So why not meet in the middle at 140? JMM moves up 5 pounds and Pac doesn't have to stuff food down his throat to make welterweight limit. No clear advantage for anyone. Sounds like a good plan to me. Why give critics another reason to hate? As far as young fighters. I would rather see Pac fight Tim Bradley over Mike Jones. He deserves another chance to headbutt his way to another victory.
Fighting JMM wasn't the problem, deciding the weight was what everybody was wanting to know. Since everybody knows JMM has no leverage in the negotiations it all falls on Pac. You factor in all the talk from his camp saying that it is hard to keep the weight on Pac for welterweight, you figure it would be a relief for them to get back down to 140 where they also say is Pac's best weight. Plus you add in how bad JMM looked above 140, it seemed like it was meant to be at LW. That is what lead many to believe the fight would probably take place at 140. Bob Arum: "Lets see, what weight can we come in at that would be an advantage for us but not for JMM. Well we can make 144 easy, and JMM looked like **** at 142. Works out for us. The hell with what the fans and critics will say. We could put Pac taking a dump on pay per view and these ******s would buy it." And now instead of everybody concentrating on what a good match Pac/JMM 3 could be, they are discrediting it. :good Exactly pac would have been criticize if he fought berto or ortiz or someone else not name mayweather. But to answer the TS question i would have love to see pac vs bradley instead of pac-marquez.
If GBP didn't have an option to match the any offer for Marquez, the fight would've been at 147lbs. It's amazing everyone denegrates Floyd for dictatitng terms to other fighters, yet to fight Pac you have to sign with Top Rank and give in to all of their demands.
People forget what kind of businessman Bob can be. How many times did they walk away from the Hatton fight until they finally got a 52/48 purse in their favor. I mean really? And at a time when Hatton was more of a draw than Pac. Which is why he is foremost to blame for Pac/Floyd fight not happening yet. He doesn't have the power or leverage to make Floyd bend to what Top Rank wants. Why do you think he was always cursing and bitching to the media like some little kid whenever they deal with each other.
Well, since the majority of ourselves cant get OVER ourselves, i guess both fighters are doomed to be hated.... Since the reality is that both fighters cant seem to get to fighting terms, we might as well get over ourselves and look to other possible fights that they'll do. I think both fights serve the fighters well. Mayweather's fighting a youngblood yet to be proven, Ortiz to prove or disprove himself. Pacquiao gets to finish unfinished business. I believe this is more for himself than for what fans want. And i want that for him.
