    I agree.

Sturm was actually tailor made for Macklin to look good. Gave him a stationary target to unload on, so he didn't have to be cute in order to land meaningful shots, which he would undoubtedly struggle with at world level against movers.

McEwan has the style to beat him, although there is a possibility of him folding again late on.

I don't think McEwan has the stamina to keep up with Mack. He gassed badly against Lee who isn't a fighter who makes you work the full 3 minutes like Macklin would. A good fight but until McEwan really shows something I find it hard to pick him over Macklin.

i think anyone who looks to beat the **** out of sturms body will have good results......

macklin picks good shots but theres not a huge amount behind his digs.....

i think if macklin had power like sturm and he battered sturms body sturm would have lost his heart and caved in imo.

Maybe if macklin took half a step back last night when throwing some of them body shots he might of hurt him abit more I just felt he got too close sometimes and couldn't get enough leverage of some of his punches, i still thought he did enough to win because of his excellent start to the fight

Not only body shots but hooks in general. Sturm's guard is pretty good on the inside - watch the Sylvester fight who only throws jabs and straight right hands. Macklin wasted a lot of energy trying to break Sturm's guard, for example with uppercuts.
I thought Sturm had one of the best jab in boxing but even Macklin's (head) movement was enough to make him miss again and again.

He couldve got more power but wouldve given Sturm the oppurtunity to use his jab more which was what he was trying (and succeeding for quite alot of the fight) to negate.

:goodcould not agree more, Macklin appeared to get too close, too often to avoid the jab, a case can be made that Macklin sweeped all 6 rounds of the 1st half of the fight, i cannot find 8 rounds for Sturm, really cant. Home decisions are becoming far to frequent in boxing not just in Germany but everywhere.

It doesn't really matter. Anyone good at what he does would beat Sturm.
