Devon lost, not close unless you are just lying. Thread starter is well known for only supporting black fighters, ignore the troll.

Those saying Devon won must be peeled and tied into a tree full of ants.

both of the 96-93 cards were bull****, no one won that many rounds over the other.

Jesus some of you are seriously deluded

Anyone that thinks Matthysse wasn't robbed should quit following this sport now

Even Alexander knew he'd been clearly beaten, look at his body language after the fight, sheepishly raising his hand, no confidence in his performance whatsoever.

So... by this logic... lets say you are in a running contest and you come in first place, beating the second place guy with just one or two seconds. Will you give him the victory because it was a close run ?

Normally I agree with you that a close fight is not a robbery, but this was an exceotion because of the nature of it. The rounds were clear and easy to score. Simply put, Alexander did not win more tha 5 rounds perios. Lucas Clearly won at least 5 plus a kd. It was a robbery. Lucas-Zab was not a robbery because the rounds were close and could have been scored differently and be justified.

no, its no coincidence. out of the 10 or so posters i knew would take the "it was a close fight defense", only 2 of them have surprised me. they are usually pretty easy to read.

I agree with you have to score this round by round. Alexander won rounds 1-3 and the 9th and the 6th could went either way but Alexander threw more and landed more. FYI, Zab Judah lost his WW crown to Carlos Baldomir in his hometown and Baldomire was an Argentine fighter.

Only through the eyes of a patriotic biased american could this fight ever be given to alexander.

I was one of the only few that felt this fight was close and said the whole night 96-93 for either fighter was wrong, but will be happy with a draw or 95-94 for either fighter. People confuse close fights and are so quickly to scream foul or robbery.

Devon Alexander 20- wins 3- loses
Lucas Martin Matthysse 30- wins 0- loses
This is what in my boxrec, and i am sure all true boxing fans will agree with me

I guess Carlos Baldomir defeating Zab Judah was a robbery too in Zab's hometown.

Agreed. Every close fight is a "robbery" these days. I thought Mathysee won myself (had it 96-93), but I have been following this sport long enough to know that scoring rounds, particularly close rounds, is very subjective. And there were several close rounds in this fight that could have tipped the balance. This said, from where I sat, Mathysse won pretty clearly.
