Now that was a robbery

People always want to yell robbery after every fight. However, last night's Alexander/Matthysse fight was a bonafide robery. Here's how I scored it;

Rounds 1-3 Alexander

Rounds 4-8 Matthysee

Round 9 Alexander

Round 10 Matthysee

With the KD, that's 96-93 Matthysee. Only one judge had it right. Matthysee landed that harder punches, and controlled the pace. I can't see how he lost that fight. If Devon lands 5 arm punches and then gets hit with 2 clean shots, guess what, he lost that exchange. This is 3rd straight loss for Alexander in my opinion. However, he's got Don King, and the hometown advantage. Alexander looks worse every fight. He wastes too much energy with the grunting and the bouncing around which leaves him fatigued later on. He can't fight when he's tired, he doesn't move his head, he gets hit with punches he shouldn't be hit with and he doesn't seem to have a high ring IQ. Crap decisions like this fight only hurt boxing. Hopefully, Matthysee gets a rematch, and hopefully the fight is nowhere near St. Louis.

 

I agree with the wasted movement. One thing I always get admonished for when sparring is wasting movement when it should be used to control the opponent. It all adds up even in a top athletes case, especially when he's been caught clean

I said depending on how fans scored rounds 1 and 2, the rest of the rounds where clear cut imo.

 

Alexander had to win at least 6 rounds to win that fight. I cannot find 6 rounds that he won.

 

Mathysee was robbed, no doubt about it.

 

Matt is the better pro and more entertaining. Alexander's punches have nothing on them and he fights to survive more than to hurt you or even land solidly.

 

Blatant robbery. Alexander is the king of shoeshine and has lost his last 3 fights imo.

You see BigReg, this is why I raise my voice in these situations, when hacks like Rafael blatantly refuse reality and report a lie (he of course had Devon winning again). This is absolutely destoying boxing and while bad judging is a terrible thing, there would be the media putting the judges to their place, but no. ESPN and Yahoo are the biggest and most influential online sport news resources, whatever they write is the truth becuase not many watch these fights, and they lie. Boxing loses.

 

Round 5 I def. had Alexander winning and round 6 could have gone either way and also round 10 in my opinion which some disagree... close fight, still waiting on the official scores round by round, I just cant see 96-93 for either fighter, def. though a draw or 95-94 for either fighter.

 

What was their score?
