I thought he called it spot on but each to their own. The only time Watt gets tedious is when he's covering an unconventional fighter who doesn't fight by the book - like Froch or Kell Brook. He doesn't seem to be able to grasp that in their specific case their supposed weakness is an overall strength and is necessary to them feeling comfortable in the ring. He shouldn't cover any Kell Brook fights in the future.
That's such a bad analogy I don't even think atlas would use that He said Colonel Bob was out due to medical reason I feel like donating to get him back quicker.
I don't mind him. I don't always agree with him, and at times I'd prefer that he replace Johnny Nelson in the studio as an analyst, but he's nowhere near as bad as some folk make it. I'd quite like to see Watt and McGuigan as the studio analysts, but Sky would probably then stick Johnny Nelson out as a commentator - I'd rather stick with Watt than that.
These threads are becoming fashionable, and more and more muppets are getting on the bandwagon. All the while there are prats like Nelson and Smith etc involved in SKY boxing, why worry so much about focusing on Watt?
At least he is honest with his views rather than the whole hype up the British guy that goes on every other weekend. Sometimes he can be annoying but i would rather have someone be annoying than just to be a puppet for Sky to sell the hype like Johnny Nelson, making out like Kell Brook would destroy Cotto just cause hes his mate. This is the same Johnny Nelson who wouldn't entertain the thought DeGale could lose to Groves, everytime someone tried to tell him how it could happen he just shut them down and then was made to look like a fool.
I've come a bit late to the party here but I really don't get the Watt hate. My good mate is the same - can't stand him. People mention the Haye-Valuev fight, but that was a close one, and I can't think of any Watt score-card where you have been left thinking WTF? Think of Dan Rafael last night, for example... Had Alexander over Matthysse and picked Berto over Ortiz previously. Watt never pulls that crap. In terms of his personality, I like his no-nonsense Scottishness. That thread the other day on Watt-isms was class. If we want to talk about irritating Sky pundits, how about Johnny Nelson? All he does is sit there there in ridiculously tight trousers prominently displaying gonad bulges while talking over Barry McGuiggan all night. And the guy can't present for ****.
