What if Tyson was fighting Buster Douglas on 27th June 1988 Atlantic city, not Spinks?? On teh same night Tyson became World Champ VS Spinks, Douglas was on his undercard! Douglas was teh underdog VS Mike Williams, a hot ripped prospect with a 16-1 record, who had only lost a SD to a trim 217lb Witherspoon. Douglas Destroyed hot prospect Williams, scoring 3 jab knockdowns And KO'ing him with a Uppercut, followed by a looping left, And then loading up with the right haymaker to put Williams down. It was Very, very similar to the combo what Douglas sparked Tyson with 2 years later!!

So Who Wins?? Tyson who KO'd Mike Spinks OR Douglas who KO'd Mike Williams?

Would Tyson last any longer with Rooney in his corner instead of his m8 Snowell?? Would being a little more ripped in muscular definition then he was in teh Tokyo Dome give him more stamina to throw more haymakers? Was different muscle toning down to camera angles/ lighting? Would Tyson land more then 1 round 8 lucky uppercut? OR would Douglas still bounce teh rightcross off his thick skull And simply control teh smaller man with his long jab?

Tyson by KO6, Tyson would use headmovement to get past the jab, use big body punches to make Buster tired, so his block would lower, then Tyson would slip the jab and KO him with a big lefthook.

I think Tyson was in a similar zone to Douglas was when he was in Tokyo. He would have been a handful for any heavyweight that night.

How can you be so sure Tyson can slip teh long jab of Douglas with his headmovements? Tyson count not slip his jab in Tokyo, he was stuck helpless on teh end of it for v.nearly every min of every round for 10 Rounds! With a bit faster headmovements, Tyson might still be stuck behind his jab most of teh time And only get close enough to land a punch on Big Bus for less then 1/3 mins per round! :ko

I Hook, picked Big Bus Douglas by 12 rounder decision, cos i think Tyson would get hit a bit less with Rooney shouting at him to move his head about more. I wanna see what my Boxing-Xpert m8 Choklab thinks, cos he voted Douglas KO. My guess is Douglas needs 13 or 14 Rounds to KO this more slippery Tyson, not just 10. :bbb

Tyson vs. Douglas has nothing to do with the version of Tyson involved and everything to do with the singular version of Douglas involved. End of story.

That night, Douglas beats any Tyson. Any other night, he absolutely doesn't. Any other night, he probably even loses to face-tattoo Tyson.

It would have been a far better fight than the complete mismatch with light-heavyweight, over-rated Spinks.

You know, the first fight with 48-0 World Heavyweight Champion Holmes was meant to be a complete mismatch too, an easy way to match Marciano's record against a respectable known name, but Jinx won it.

The way Douglas was for one night only, would have beaten the Tyson of the Spinks fight. It would have been a lot closer on the cards though.
Tyson would still have eventually caved in,mentally.
