Reminds me of the Gatti, Baldomir fights leading up. Mayweather is a smart cherry picker, I'll give him that.

He's quick to jump onto these hyped opponents who are severely outmatched when it comes to skill and being big and strong brawlers (which casuals adore) their main attributes.

Think about it, he signed to fight those guys for WBC titles (the most recognisable title to casuals), but avoided the likes of Tszyu, Cotto, Margarito, Paul Williams, Pacquao who clearly would've given him the toughest fights.

He'll probably continue fighting these hyped guys who have no chance, they are talking Khan next. And if he fights Alvarez for the WBC belt at 154 after it will be exactly the same with him avoiding Martinez. Same **** different smell. Don't know people can't see through his bull****.

I guess a shot Mosley that Floyd already schooled followed by a blown up Marquez that didn't win a round vs Floyd and then perhaps Mike Jones is better.....

Thanks for letting me know that people like Roach, Kellerman, Rafael, and Merchant, are casual fans.

Pac beat the clear best at 140, beat the best at 147 besides Mayweather, while Floyd (who Pac's been trying to fight for two-three years) selectively fought outmatched guys and avoided the ones who would pose him the most problems. The Mosley and Marquez fights came about when Floyd was on vacation, even so the Marquez is a logical conclusion to their rivalry. Mike Jones fight won't happen next, Cotto rematch is more logical should Mayweather go on to fight Khan as I expect he will.

they are suckers for hype as anyone. believe me they will be the first to criticise floyd for the ease of his victory. roach is being more diplomatic, ortiz trained in his gym and he's friendly with Pac. Notice he says Ortiz is a "big strong kid" alot. being big and strong NEVER is enough to beat Floyd. Lol at that clown (david rodela) who said "Ortiz will overwhelm Mayweather", these suckers fall for these matchups everytime, never learn.

I agree with you, for the most part. But, I don't think he should be fighting Martinez. It would be great feat, but, he's giving up too much size to Martinez. I'm not saying I wouldn't like to see it. But, Pac is only fight he should be involved in. Everything else (Ortiz, Martinez, other credible opponents) is icing on the cake, for the fans, IMO.

"Victor just had a great win against Andre Berto, who has quite a similar style to Mayweather - you know, quick hands.

"But Ortiz just walked through him. I think Ortiz has a lot of power at 147lbs and will cause problems for Mayweather.

"But Mayweather is just too classy with the experience, the speed and the eye he has in a fight. I think it will be quite difficult for Ortiz to get to him."

How many pounds of pressure delivered to the point of the chin does it take to knock a man out? I am not sure but I am sure that Ortiz is cappable of deliverering it, and that along with his decent technical skills gives him a shot at an upset. Im not saying its going down like that, Im just saying. Shout out to Mike Jones, the man aint no joke.
