Wlad Klitschko Has had some serious opponents since 2000 Including Monte Barrett 2000 Won by TKO Chris Byrd 2000 Won by UD Ray Mercer 2002 Won by TKO Jameel McCline 2002 Won by RTD Samuel Peter 2005 Won by UD Calvin Brock 2006 Won by TKO Ray Austin 2007 Won by KO Lamon Brewster 2007 Won by RTD Sultan Ibrigaminov 2008 Won by UD Tony Thompson 2008 Won by KO Hasim Rahman 2008 Won by TKO Ruslan Chagaev 2009 Won by RTD Eddie Chambers 2010 Won by KO Now i left some fights as they were 2nd fights or not as big name wise. David Haye Giacobbe Fragomeni 2006 Won by TKO Jean Mormeck 2007 Won by TKO Enzo Maccarinelli 2008 Won by TKO Monte Barrett 2008 Won by TKO Nikilay Valuev 2009 Won by MD John Ruiz 2010 Won by TKO Audley Harrison 2010 Won by TKO Now obviously Haye is younger but me looking over it i mean Haye has really never fought anyone that can really Box. Im looking over these people that he has fought at Heavyweight and all of them were well well past there best. He might have the most over hyped Heavyweight record Ive ever seen. Audley pretty much last fight ever same with Valeuv and Ruiz now if some ****ing chump from the UK that knows **** all about boxing comes on here and says thats cos Haye made them Retire after fighting them. Audley was 39 years old. Ruiz was a old 37 years of age. Valeuv was 37 also. Monte was 37 as well at the time of there fight also. Now compare that to Wlad fought Eddie Chambers was 28 years old Sam Peter was 25 first fight and 30 the 2nd. Chageav was 30 years old. Rahman was 36 years old and past it. But most his Opponents were coming off wins so they earn a shot and he took them on. My prediction is this Wlad is going to outbox him and he is not going to have any answer for 8 rounds then in the 9th big straight Right after Haye is fully done.
Haye has a very weak resume for such a high profile fighter. If you forget the belts he got and merely look at the opposition then there are only 2 real good wins and those are Fragomeni TKO9 and Mormeck TKO7, and both wins came with some trouble. He also has only 26 fights in 9 years time, and no less than 13 of these opponents were actually bums... Yet he was decked 5 times already. Haye even has slightly more percentual downtime as Wlad, and with significantly weaker opposition. So we're looking at 13 meaningful fights, over a 9 year career with only 2 really good opponents (36/35) from wich one was on the slide already. The most interesting in those fights, against a lot of weak chinned opposition is that it's clear that he can't produce a 1 punch knockout. (And don't come here with a Hurov/Gurov vid, because that guy stays down even after a glancing Malignaggi jab). Wich many people say is his biggest chance against Wlad. Mere looking at the numbers Haye doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell to pull of the upset, but that's not true of course. He certainly has a chance to TKO (not KO) Wlad in the early stages of the fight if Wlad would panic again after being hit. The longer the fight lasts, the slimmer his chances get. Outpointing Wlad, not in his wildest dreams if the fight was in his backyard with his mother as the referee and his uncles/aunts scoring the fight.
looking at wlads most recent fights im saying this fight is 50/50 but id agree it has to play out in haye's favour early
I'll be the first to admit, Haye's heavyweight record isn't great. But lets not pretend Wlad's record is loads better. He's beaten no better calibre of fighter than Haye.
I don't understand the logic of 'oh this person has fought younger better opponents so that means they are gonna win'!! it aint about who either of them fought in the past that dont tell u ****... It would only be relevant if these over the hill guys actually beat Haye!!
Not only were they younger and stronger, most of them were dominated. While Haye had trouble in all of his bigger fights. And that's one of the main reasons a lot of boxfans have doubts about Haye... He hasn't fought any of the stronger fighters in the division, so they can't beat him! Of course that's not a certain science in boxing (just look at the Ali/Frazier/Foreman triangle) but it certainly is a strong indicator.
You shouldn't embarrass yourself like this. On this one I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you were drunk while posting the above.
Yeah i always think this too. It has some bearing but not much. It just means maybe they have not been tested to their highest level, but does not mean that they cant hang with someone at a higher level.
Give it a second thought. Eddie Chambers came off a win over previously undefeated Dimitrenko. Chagaev came off a win over previously undefeated Vuluev. Samuel Peter came off several good looking knock out wins. And all those three guys where young. I'd say Wlad has faced a fair share of young and hungry opponents that where on a winning strike before they faced him.
