Weird ENDING of Humberto "La Zorrita" Soto Vs Motoki Sasaki FIGHT

That is what I am wondering too. If it is accidental headbutt, then it is on the cards. But if you slipped and can't continue fighting, then you lose or continue fighting with injured legs.

 

He was tagged earlier at 0.51 of the video and his sweat flew all over the place. Then he kept trying to run away from the Japanese fighter.

 

Humberto Soto clearly did not slip, by looking at the slo mo replay, it shows they he lifted both feet off the ground and let himself fall.

 

It looks like Sasaki rushed Soto and their knees/legs banged, causing Soto to slip/fall.

It can be argued that Sasaki's knee caused Soto the injury, thus the fall, which would send the fight to the cards as an accidental headbutt occurence would.......

.....however, the ref ruled that water on the canvas caused Soto to slip. How is water on the canvas any fault of Sasaki?
Even if the water was in Sasaki's corner, its the ref's job to make sure its wiped off before a round begins.

Just seems to me that the correct call here should have been for Soto to be given a time limit to continue on with the fight or lose by default.

 

Sasaki knee'd him there on purpose. Watch the slow-mo. He throws his knee in and it takes Soto's legs from under him. Hence him hitting the floor.

 

Just watched the slo-mo. It does'nt look like a slip. It looks like the knee caused Soto the injury......but thats not what was ruled by the ref.

The ruling was that Soto slipped on a wet canvas, not sure if thats reason to have a fight go to the cards over an injury, but I dont believe it would be.

 

You can acknowledge then, that there was water on the canvas....

"How is water on the canvas any fault of Sasaki?"

In that same context, how come you couldnt ask yourself, "How is water on the canvas any fault of Soto?"

Luckily, the rules of boxing have already answered to this dilemma by calling this a technical decision situation, where NEITHER fighters are penalized by an accidental injury.

The fighter wins according to the merits of his performances by the previous rounds - this is as fair as it can get. Does this favor more towards a boxer than a puncher possibly? Yes.

But NO ONE can know the future. Could have Sasaki KO'd Soto later on? Possibly. But could have Soto KO'd Saski also? Possibly. Could have this went all 12 rounds to a decision anyways. Probably. Remember, this happened on the 11th round, so there was about 11/12th of the fight to predicate judgement on.

The LAST THING you want to do is draw judgement off of personal speculation. And this is where you fail....

 

Usually its only in the center but that whole ring was covered in that ****.

Soto is faking an injury you even saw him limp when being announced the winner... the thing is he is playing possum and hoping his next opponent thinks Soto is still weak because of this injury... He is trying to lure in a big name that will only get in the ring with a weak sotobecause everyone fears soto ...... it was only faked so Soto can land a big fight because PAC, JMM, Valero, Barrera, and Morales are all afraid of Soto... and duck him.

ouch! that hurts! that type of injury is recurrent. this would mean a big decline on soto's performance on his next fight. aztecas is crying somewhere!

 

I would agree with this. I am not sure what the hell Sasaki was doing flying in Kamikaze style anyway, but it looks to have been caused by a clash of the knees.

 

All fights should be fought regardless of location with only Mexican commentators.
