I tried to score it how I thoguht a judge in Germany would score it i.e. all rounds that were remotely close go to Sturm and I had it 115-113 to Sturm in the end.

However, if I was scoring the fight regularly I would have had that score the other way around.

Macklin had a really impressive start and I had to keep asking my mate sat beside me "tell me I aint wrong and he won that round didnt he?" because I had him marching up the scoreboard and early doors.

Sturn started to find his range then but Macklin fully exploited Sturms negativity and didnt allow him the space to dominate as he usually does.

Sturms only clear round in my eyes was the finally one, Macklin was getting tired and the fizz leaving the punches he was crash in earlier on. Thats understandable given the pace he started off with.

The German crowd and journalists were less forgiving of the result then we have been and they were calling it a straight robbery. There were some really tasty fights between the Germans and the Bosnians after the fight when the Germans were calling it a robbery and the Bosnians not taking to kindly to the suggestion that Sturm should have lost the fight.

There have been worse robberies in Germany but scorecards reading 116-112 were even beyond my "hypercritical" viewpoint that I was scoring it with.

Anyway, there was no doubt in Team Gallagher's mind who won the fight and more to the point, Macklin's sponsor is going to pay him his win bonus - money talks!

I had it 115-113 to Macklin, too.

Not exactly the robbery of the century though, not even the robbery of the night! Neutral ground and Macklin would've got the nod.
