And it will most certainly happen.

Paulie will give him a boxing clinic....

Paulie would most likely get humilated fighting Devon, because Paulie is a C class fighter and falling.

I'm pretty damn sure I read that he made the weight easy.

I'm not surprised that he's running from the weight. Think he realises he can't beat any of the top 140 pounders.

I think mentally Devon is broken. He knows that he is nothing more than a flash in the pan, and he is hurt and scared because he believed his own hype and the hype from Mayweather that he was the heir apparent.

I think Devon has the time and the ability to improve, but he has to realize he needs to ditch Cunningham and get with a real trainer, someone like Manny Steward or Ronnie Shields or hell Buddy McGirt. Someone who can teach him how to fight like a pro fighter.

Good post. Cotto did it, Judah, and many others. Sometimes the body tells you that it's time to move up.

Ortiz was struggling to make 140, and look at him now.

:patsch. So you're saying them 7 pounds suddenly made him a beast?

And no, he was not struggling. He made it easy, in fact. He said it in a recent interview. He just wasn't getting a shot at a world title.

Styles make fights. He was fighting a guy who fought back and fought his fight.

Lamont Peterson pasted Ortiz in the later rounds.

You don't suddenly become great just because you moved up, you know.

Exactly, he knew there were skilled guys and heavy tough guys at 140 and he saw an easy title to take from an overrated WW champ in Berto. So he took his shot.

Expect Mayweather to outbox and possibly TKO Ortiz late, following an even better template that Lamont Peterson laid out.

well yeah 7 pounds do make a difference. That's 7 more pounds of water, and muscle you get to keep. Espcially since Ortiz came in at 164 against Berto, fighting at 147 is a big difference than 140.

Ask all the Pacquiao fans. They'll tell you how big of a difference it is to move up in weight when you are draining to make a lower weight

If they fight, Paulie might be TKO'd
