I don't blame him, I would have done the same. He had a decent Irish following come support him. I doubt they'd be too happy in him putting out the English anthem, and he can hardly represent both now, can he?

It's his choice at the end of the day. I don't think I'd represent the Country I originate from.

He was born to Irish parents in England but spent a lot of time in Ireland. He played Hurling for Tipperary and identifies himself as Irish. In those circumstances it's his geuine choice. It's not like these 'Canadian' or 'German' boxers FFS.

    Au contraire mon frere!

Your comments on here are so ****in dumb that you just deserve abuse and not debate!

I except that level of ignorance from the likes of supremo because that narrowminded ****wittery is bred into bigots like that from an early age, but considering you are a Khan ballsucker I thought you would have a little more intelligence with regards the sensitive subject of nationality. Haroon anyone?

Not really. Khan represents Great Britain, where he was born and bred.

    Haroon represents

kistan because he wasn't good enough for Team GB.

It really is killing a few of the little sensitive souls that Macklin would dare to embrace his Irish roots. That Irish anthem playing and the Irish tricolour in the ring on Saturday night definitely got a few people into a wee tizzy:cool:

Yeah, you could, and it's messed up to be honest.

Like the same with DeLaHoya representing America and Mexico.

Same with some fighters from Puerto Rico and other countries. There's plenty of examples and notice, there's always debate on it, which is why it's stupid.
