There is no such thing. :deal As has been explained many times over now: If one guy can not have an argument made to win any more than half the rounds, and got knocked down, then it is a robbery if he wins the match. IMO the most rounds you could give Alexander was five. The absolute most. Therefore no form of a win for him is acceptable. Even a draw isn't acceptable (assuming no rounds are being scored even). He won five rounds tops. He got knocked down. He lost. Close. But. Clear.
I actually gave Alexander 6 rounds rounds 1,2,3,5,9 and 10 after watching it a second time. Round 6 was close and round 10 as well. But people have to remember judges look for different things not only for two to four hard shots for a round. This fight could have gone either way, I wish it was a draw. But before either fighter threw the first punch, I bet a lot of people had their past fights in mind esp. Lucas with his Judah fight. Robberies for me as I stated before is Casamayor/Santa Cruz or Martines/Cintron. This one def. to close to call when a lot of the scores are 95-94 for either fighter when you actually score it and not who you feel deserve the win.
I have to take back my statment after watching the fight again i can see devonne did win the fight. What was shocking and what he did lose for me was a grade, i thought he was going to be a great fighter mabey even an A fighter. but he looked very, very average and if matseesye used a little more skill and not looked for the k.o. he could have won that fight.
Wow I thought Devon was gonna make a statement I thought wrong instead it was Mathyesse! This fight was not even close! I hope Team Mathyesse can take measures to get this looked into. 330 people compared to 24 thought Lucas won. Those 24 must wear hockey helmets to school.
Send a link to this thread to those ****ing judges. Do the boxing commission actually get to suspend judges? and call them in for citations? i mean this guys are ending great fighter careers....
I gave Alexander every one of those rounds except the 10th. Those are the five rounds he can be given on any reasonable scorecard. 9th is MANDATORY to score to Alexander. 1, 2, 3, and 5 are the swing rounds which could go either way, and were just slightly edged by Alexander IMO. The 10th wasn't close at all. It was a VERY clear mandatory Matthysse round - as much as was 4 and 6-8.
Incidentally, judge Carlos Colon (96-93 Alexander) had Rodel Mayol up 68-65 in his rematch with Ivan Calderon (the other judges had the reverse score, a swing of 3 rounds out of a total of 6). The interesting part about that is that Colon is Puerto Rican and Calderon was fighting at home. Colon might just be genuinely incompetent instead of corrupt.
:deal I'd lean towards corrupt, actually. :verysad In his two big tilts in Germany, he had it suspiciously wide for the German fighter both times. He himself is not German. This screams "mercenary" to me.
i had it 96-93 to matthyse, his punches were clearly the more damaging and he landed just as many AND he knocked him down and Alexander was gassed and and and. Matthysse won, Alexander goes 0-3 in my book and no wonder he is searching out the feather fists of Paulie www.maineventboxing.wordpress.com
