Martinez wins easy. Jermaine Taylor was never that good. He has no lateral movement whatsover. No imagination in his punches.

That's the key. Martinez would run circles around him.

Some of you guys seem to have awfully short memories. Here's a little refresher course on what Jermain Taylor looked liked when he was somewhere near the top of his game. Keep in mind, this is at 168, and after the two losses to Pavlik. Jermain was better at 160 pre-pavlik. (You may want to fast forward a bit. The first 4 minutes is just intros and stuff.)

Yeah Jermaine Taylor was awesome pre-pavlik. I mean the same guy that drew with Winky Wright and got an SD vs Cory Spinks. What a monster!

Yeah because Winky Wright is a scrub and Cory Spinks can't box.

Still not convinced Martinez wouldn't clown any version of Taylor.

I wish this was one of those times were you could vote twice. I'd vote Martinez by TKO or KO and Taylor by Decision.

I use to be high on JT until I continued to watch the same fighter make the same mistakes over and over again. By the time his fight with Winky was over with, he was off my current favorite fighters list. I never yelled at the TV screen during a fight until I saw that one.

I picked Martinez on how Taylor looked in recent fights. If Taylor has some comeback fights and looks decent and works his way back to have confidence and get his jab and experience going, he can maybe beat Martinez. But only if he learns how to fight with a gameplan and not just win rounds without a plan, like he always did. He was faster than Hopkins but unlike Hopkins he does not plan anything or think about tactics. He just relies on skills to win as the fight goes on. He needs that fightplan.

A damn good fight actually if we are talking prime, middleweight Taylor :think

Prime for prime, I dont know, Ill go ahead and say.... Martinez SD? I think Taylor would own him early, dropping him hard, middle rounds fairly even, and he would start to take control late and maybe drop Taylor towards the end to eek it out.

    I dont know.

If they fought now Id pick Martinez by stoppage.

That's a good fight for Martinez other than calling out fighters below his division. Martinez by late TKO, if Jermain doesnt KO this Latino in the early rounds.

JT now? I'd favor Sergio until we see something. JT of say 4 years ago, I'll take JT.
