I can't understand why British people don't like Haye. It's bizarre. British people are supposed to support their British fighters. How could you cheer on the foreign fighter against one of your own countrymen.

depends if you buy into nationalism in sports. Boxing is far more about personality in my opinion.

Don't most people buy into nationalism though? It's about representing your country. You should want your own countryman to do well. I don't know why some people are getting so offended over Haye's trash talk. It's obvious he's not really like that and he just needs to hype the fight.

I've noticed a lot of British people hate De Gale and Amir Khan too. Definitely starting to notice a pattern there.

I haven't come across one person who doesn't want him to win

I don't care about anyone "representing my country", that's a load of crap if you ask me. I dont watch a British film over an American one, just because it's British..you know what I'm saying.

They all come across as being arrogant, a lot of people don't like that.

Why? What is representing your country?

What's a country? Some lines some idiot drew on a map...

****ing hell, this is some funny stuff.

it's funny for you and me, but a lot of people really buy into it. No point arguing.

There's nothing wrong with being patriotic and proud of your country, though. It's more than just lines on a map. It's a culture.

Nice to see. I am sure this braggart is an embarrassment to decent British people - who will just as happy as the rest of us when his glass jaw gets shattered Saturday.

Not a hope in Hell. You would be wrong even if you did say 99% of the English want Haye to win, but you think the Scots, Irish and the Welsh are also backing Haye?
    :rofl :nut

That's Andy Sugdan from Emmerdale for you guys:D

His comments about nationality etc are spot on.

Wlad comes across as a nice fella and probably is but this is boxing not ****in strictly come dancing. I want Haye to win purely and simply because he's British and so am i, im patrotic and regardless of how much class Wlad apparently has id love Haye to spark him.

I watch boxing precisely because I don't care about tribalism and nationality.

I support the most skilled fighters.

That's fair enough and im the same when it comes to people like Pacquiao and Mayweather but if its a British fighter involved i'll want them to win regardless of who their fighting or how they've been perceived in the lead up to the fight.
