I was all for Taylor doing this for himself until I got to this part

I don't care if the doctors have cleared him and say he is at no greater risk.. This is a bad move.. The man hasn't taken a punch since being knocked out, and his brain bled the last time.

Taylor has nothing left to proove. He took the MW championship from Hopkins, and beat him all over again. He will always be a special fighter. This is just not worth it, and I don't support his comeback at all.

This isn't the time to joke and post stupid comments/pictures.. JT could get ****ed for life.

Especially not in this stage of Jermain's career. Martinez would beat him decisively imo.

But actually it's stupid to start talking about a Martinez fight when he hasn't even had his first comeback fight yet, let alone a few more and winning impressively.

J Taylor was always a trier, who you root for even though he wasnt able to compete at on the tough European scene.
There is a big market for Taylor in America, where he can be held in high esteem with wins over fighters like Manfredo.
Wish him well in his come back

Taylor shouldn't fight again but then again this sport is very corrupted. I'm sure sickos will sanction him in order to make money off his name. Ali showed signs of Parkinsons and couldn't even touch his eye yet he was still sanctioned. It sucks but money will influence guys to milk people's names even if they shouldn't be fighting anymore. Hopefully JT doesn't come back, stays in good health, and is able to live his live happily with his family.

Taylor had a good career being the only man since Jones to say he possibly beat Hopkins once but he came up short in the first fight, against Wright, and against Froch. He was always going to have a downfall with his limited IQ and lack of defense but the guy would fight anybody and seems like a nice guy, hard to root against him really. His career sadly won't change much for the better but he should enjoy the rest of his life, shame on sanctioning bodies if he's allowed to fight again.

It is in Little Rock, and please believe I will be there, I'll make an Eastside Boxing sign and try to get it on TV.

    I agree...

Jermain has had alot of tough Fights, 3 pretty hard KO losses.. His career has go downfall guite time... Taylor looked like Shadow against AA what he was at this his days...

Jermain Taylor was one of the most hated champ by general What i remember.

Taylor was the UNDISPUTED Middleweight champion at World. It is something to archieve..

I only hope Taylor managed to save some money and is not broke or having financial problems.

I would not mind if Taylor chosed to take some of the weak guys at middle and maybe grab some bely but what I have learned about Taylor guy does not do tune ups or taking easy opponents. he goes for the best. To brave for his own good at this stage of his career..

I thought Taylor was one of the most underrated and hate champs at least at ESB.

Im happy about this. One of my favourite fighters and seems like a nice fella outside the ring aswell. Not sure about coming back at 160 though. Wasnt he struggling to make it before the first pavlik fight.

He was struggling to make it when he trained like ****, also at the same time his stamina went to ****, perhaps there's a correlation between surrounding himself with yes men, going up in weight, and having no stamina...

It would be an interesting fight. Paul WHATISDEFENCE Williams aside, Martinez hits hard but a faster guy could do well against him. Martinez and Taylor both like a slow pace.

The AA KO is the one that bothers me. He gassed out on Froch. If he would have just taken a knee he still would've won the decision against Froch.
The Pavlik KO was a real KO too, but again it was primarily the result of fatigue and not know what to do when he was in trouble.
But his "cardio thing" as someone put it, isn't really much of a mystery. He simply stopped training like he used to under Burns. He was spending his time in Miami and partying. Then shedding a ton of weight in a short period of time in the few weeks before the fight.
If he's committed to the lifestyle that will make him a good fighter again, then I'm behind it. But only insofar as he looks good in the ring. If he shows obvious signs of decline against the lesser guys he's going to start out with, then I'll jump off the wagon.

Froch he was up and asking for a rematch. Pavlik, he was asking if he had been KO'd. Abraham the same. Some speculation the worst of it was the way he fell on his head against AA. That may have been worse than the punch. After all, lots here say AA couldn't KO a downed stationary target. :rofl

Has there ever been a fighter who seemed totally shot, but ultimately proved people wrong? I can think of a few, and I hope Jermain provides yet another example of that phenomena.

Some people seem to forget how close JT came to beating both Pavlik and Froch. Considering JT's over all resume', if he had won those fights, he would probably be a shoe-in for the IBHOF. It's not like any old scrub can climb in the ring and come within a flush punch or two of beating those guys, but JT did.

Jermain proved that he could hold his own against guys like Hopkins and Wright. As soon as Manny Steward took over, JT stated to decline. After he split with Steward he made Ozell Nelson his chief second, and Ozell ****ed things up even worse than Steward did. (Nelson actually encouraged Jermain to go out and get into a jabbing contest with Kelly Pavlik, and instructed Jermain to go balls out in the 11th round with Froch.)

Pat Burns is the man who took Jermain to a 25-0 record and the undisputed middleweight championship of the world. In so doing Jermain became just the 4th man in history to capture the true middleweight championship while still undefeated.

This is speculation on my part, but in my opinion, if JT had stayed with Burns he would still be the undisputed middleweight champion of the world, and he would still be happy at 160. I'm excited about this come back. I really hope we get to see Jermain clean house at 160.
