Ortiz is one dimensional. Floyd and everyone in the world knows that. If anyone can make Ortiz look average will be Floyd.

Southpaws require distance to utilize their different angles. Apply pressure onto them to take away those angles.

You guys ever wonder why emmanuel never learned how to fight on the inside for ****? That's why.

Sweet pea did a great job. And if mayweather fights that way against PAC it will not be good

Sweet Pea was a more complete fighter than emmanuel, that boy had a jab and inside skills to go with it.

Floyd can lay back in the cut and fire jabs at emmanuel. It's a given that emmanuel will be coming towards him. emmanuel is so aggressive he takes away his own southpaw angles sometimes.

I figured he'd do this with his high guard but I thought he'd find his groove and soften Ortiz up with shots from the outside for a few rounds. This year is killer for boxing:bbb

I think if that was berto instead of ortiz he would fight the same, floyd is a true welter though, he should be able to do it easily, im still wondering if ortiz can drop him with his hard punches.

I don't know why everyone talks about Mayweather fighting on the back foot all the time. The only fights he really did that were Castillo 2 (smaller), Delahoya (much smaller), and Baldomir (broke hand). He does box smart, balances defense with offense and doesn't take unnessary risks but in many fights he's been aggressive - Judah, Corley (its Gatti-Ward 4), Mitchell, Hatton (less so but still), Corrales, Sosa and Mosley. Marquez was a bit more of a sedate performance but JMM didn't take risks either and I'm not sure if Mayweather didn't just want to get rounds under his belt

Floyd doesn't have a choice. His footwork against Marquez was nonexistent against Mosley and will be nonexistent against Ortiz.

Losing red blood cells robs you of stamina. Lucky for Floyd, Ortiz will be taking the same OSDT and will not show the same stamina he did when he fought Berto.

    Count on it.

I'll wait to see what Mayweather looks like in 2011 first.
(It's easy to assume he will still look/be/perform like the Floyd of old)

Maybe by saying this he also understands that he ain't as mobile as before?

I've seen Floyd walk middleweights down in the gym; walk 'em down. I've seen it myself - EDDIE MUSTAFA MUHAMMAD
