Without Manny Steward Wlad would be nothing now so he should be more thankful.

    cliff notes:

haye is playing mind games and has been since beginning. if he wins this will be the underlying storyline.

steward has been known to throw his fighters under the bus and bail the sinking ship absolving himself out of blame. nothing is new. its how i thought it would go.

Easy to take a quote out of context; he says he loves it because it's going to make Wladimir come out of his shell like he did in the second Brewster fight where he looked great. Big difference there.

These cheap shots by Haye's camp reek of desperation.

Did Sanders resort to psychological warfare to bulldoze over Wlad? No. He didn't have to. He allowed Wlad to feel safe and then ambushed and steamrolled him with cold-blooded precision.

Why does Haye believe he needs to play mind games? He thinks his chances aren't as good without? :deal

Right before the start of Rd 5 in the Brewster loss, Manny motioned to Wlad and said "Go to the ring. The man is tired." He figured that Wlad being there ready after such a dominant round was going to break Brewster down mentally.

However, Wlad was already DEAD TIRED after being pressured so much by a determined Brewster that he could barely stand up. He was forced to throw all he had at Brewster just to keep him off. Yet, Manny told the big man to get off the stool prematurely, as a way to get a psychological edge. Brewster was nearly KTFO in the previous round ffs!!!

After Steward tole Wlad to go to the ring, he was KTFO in that very same round. :-( I think that fight is where they decided that Wlad should pace himself more to avoid expending his gas tank too soon.

Regardless of the above, the fact remains that Emmanuel Steward is the reason why Wlad has not lost a fight ever since. He taught Wlad how to hold, turn his back from punches, and lean all his weight down on smaller guys. He showed him how to protect that wet toilet paper chin better so guys as limited as Brewster, etc. can never check it again.

Wlad OWES Steward for where he is right now. He just can't take 25% of what he dishes out on all those bums. You will never see Wald win a fight that's a shootout. Vitali LOVES to wins fights that have that unpredictable ebb and flow. Wlad has to have everything going his way.

I'd like to see a link proving that as how things went. The claims that Steward abandons sinking ships is kinda undermined by the fact that he stuck with Wladimir through 2 KO losses in three months and helped built him back up to be (the real) champion of the world.

Good point. If the Klitschkos hated Blacks, then why did Wladimir even work with Steward for so many years? Why even hire Steward at all? Why do they do charity work for UNESCO?

Make no mistake, Haye is getting KTFO on Saturday, camp issues or not. The train hasn't gone off of the rails yet.

Vitali probably had issues with Manny coming in because he was still sore about how the Lewis fight went. Manny was Lennox's trainer, after all. Vitali STILL wants his rematch.

    This ^^^^

Aside from which Haye has publically stated he's going to try to mess around with the Klitschko camp in the week before the fight. This purely goes along with sending Fitzgerald over to harass Steward.

Plus there's statements like this from Steward
"Trainer Emanuel Steward sees WBA heavyweight champion David Haye as utterly failing and his wasting his time with his useless attempts to intimidate the bigger, more experienced and talented IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko ahead of their fight this Saturday night."

    http://www.boxingnews24.com/2011/06...-wladimir-it’s-haye-who-is-afraid/#more-71449

And: "“The press conference was only about 4-hours ago. Haye thinks we’re worried about him? THAT is a joke! I have never seen Wladimir in such a great state of mind. I feel the same way I did before Lennox Lewis’ fight with Mike Tyson or Tommy Hearns before his fight with (Roberto) Duran, and when I feel THIS GOOD, everything’s OK.”"

Also, let's be honest....who the HELL would want to work with Steward, if this were true, in the future? I mean what fighter would ever have confidence in him again? All the opponents would have to do is mumble the same nonsense before a match to create discord from then on.

It's Haye propaganda, nothing more......kinda evidenced by Haye saying he'd not leave Booth anyway, so it could NEVER be proven true or false.

Manny Steward has been a ***** like that ever since he started training top-flight heavyweights.

Reportedly, his break with Holyfield (who he was with for 2 fights in 1993) was partially due to "distrust" from Holyfield.
Holyfield knew Steward was offering his services to rivals.
Then after McCall beat Lewis, Steward was quick to offer to train Lewis.

Quite wrong. Holyfield in his own words said he wanted to pay a set fee and Manny was asking for a percentage and the split was purely to do with money.

As to the McCall episode, Steward was brought in for tactics for the one fight only.

The build up to this fight is great. It has everyone talking and getting excited about it. I thought Wlad would be boring in comparison to Haye but he's shown some great moments in promoting this fight. This Manny conspiracy is the latest in line of Adam Booth psych-outs. Top stuff!

Lazarus, any idea what they hope to achieve by trying to unsettle Manny? They hope Manny will lose his temper and try to send Wlad out guns blazing?

I can't believe they're naive enough to think an old fox like Steward would fall for childish games like this.
